I have been working at McLane Foodservice full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits with a 401k match with constant room for advancement. Mclane is always looking to hire from within.

    Cons

Working a overnight shift, weekends and during the holidays. Food service is a very demanding business and you must be prepared to sacrifice time with your family for the job.

I worked at McLane Foodservice full-time

    Pros

I was given a shop and to run it the way it needed to be run. Support when i needed it from Management and mostly total buy in on any ideas brought to them.

    Cons

Hardly no driver accountability, They rule the roost.

    Advice to Management

I would advise that a driver committee be put in place and let them have the authority to dictate and enforce punishment for infractions.

I worked at McLane Foodservice full-time

    Pros

Fair wage, 401k match, decent schedule

    Cons

Touted Christian values were none existent at this location. Co-workers were nasty, belligerent, crude, and had no respect for each other or anyone for that matter. Professional behavior was non-existent...they acted like children, with total disregard and lack of consideration for anyone else. Warehouse staff was completely disrespectful of managers and each other, and managers reciprocated. Complaints to management about unacceptable and inappropriate behavior and actions were met with cop-out answers (Well, it IS a warehouse) because the managers were unwilling or unable to set high standards of behavior for everyone to follow. Many of them thought the childish behavior was funny and openly joked about it.

    Advice to Management

Shortly before I left, I had received an excellent performance review, yet my pay raise was not reflective of that. I found out that everyone, regardless of performance, pretty much received the same percentage raise, which is unfair, and another contributing factor in my decision to leave. I am certain that this location loses many excellent employees, which is a shame as this company has such potential to be greater.

    Pros

lot of work and can be fun

    Cons

cut the routes that led to reduction in pay but more work and scanners designed for certain aspects of operations but not functional for other divisions and company not listening to employees on how to fix

    Advice to Management

I know stockholders run your company but the bottom line is your employees should come first and just because you have a degree and may know everything, you in reality dont and will not listen
