I worked at McWane full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Profitable and financially stable company, nice HR and wellness initiatives, good benefits, nice perks, passionate employees, small corporate office so you know everyone fairly well.

    Cons

Lack of diversity in management/leadership, management can be very slow about getting things done, not many professional growth opportunities, no standard of doing things outside of the environmental, health and safety realms.

    Advice to Management

Don't neglect your employees. Some of them actually really like working there, but after getting no response on work tasks and no type of growth or development opportunities, they start to feel worthless to the company.

I have been working at McWane full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

YOU have a Job, unless there is a Shut Down, but you wont know that until a few days before.

    Cons

Poor Mangement engagement. Low morale due to lack of communication. No incentive for employees to excel. Management is always on edge due to production goals from corporate. Management has no idea how work affects the culture and morale, therefor there is such high attrition rate. There seems to be an elitist and arrogance bug amongst senior management. Will seldom talk to regular employee. VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE UP or TRANSFER due to low staffing. Everyone is replaceable.

    Advice to Management

McWane Ductile- The Mcwane way....All work standards revolve around product and quality, nothing mentions the TEAM or TEAM Members.

    Pros

Good people in the lower echelons.

    Cons

No culture - Short term view and only focused on financial results - People and infrastructure are after-thoughts or not considered - The corporate sr. managers have created an environment of "US-and-Them" - Only select few are allowed inside the leadership circle and the rest are kept out. Not open to outside views or new ideas. If you consider yourself a professional and want to join a progressive company, this would not be a good environment for you.

    Advice to Management

Success is not measured only by financial results.
