I worked at Measurement Incorporated part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Positive work environment and support form co-workers and management.

    Cons

Low pay. No benefits. No full time for readers.

    Advice to Management

Increase the amount of work so the readers are not just seasonal. Increase the amount of online employees or you will never compete with Pearson. Reward employees who are fast and accurate.

I have been working at Measurement Incorporated full-time

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, but to a point its taken advantage of.

    Cons

I have seen so much misogyny, elitism, and nepotism while working here. It varies greatly by department, but on the software support side, and call center side, it is utterly deplorable. I have seen women, like myself, be labeled as hysterical for telling truths in meetings, all while upper management has chosen to inflate themselves and ignore the disasters that had built up and finally bit them in the back last year. I have watched those less able and inexperienced be elevated into positions through nepotism and shady connections. Managers have continually not respected or supported the employees in their departments, acting in condescending manners. Certain managers have all but made it clear that working above your station and taking on extra responsibilities, and then following through with them, is means for punishment. Friends and buddies of those above are the only ones awarded. Even have gotten to the point where everything has to be recorded to defend myself and prevent credit and work being taken away.

    Advice to Management

Learn to support the people in your department, learn your place in the scheme. Try and manage and promote more ideas and new thoughts from within. No more nepotism, no more friends club only, and really learn to respect those people who have a passion instead of punishing it, and twisting their efforts into your own accomplishments.

    Pros

Very convenient, easy hiring process, flexible hours, paid training.

    Cons

Seasonal work, wish it lasted longer.

    Advice to Management

Would be nice to have a longer working season.

I worked at Measurement Incorporated full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are great, relaxed atmosphere, good PTO, good location

    Cons

No company match for 401K, during interview the company was painted as being in fantastic financial shape but that was not the case, poor communication when there were layoffs and poor communication in general

    Advice to Management

Formal management training, meaning, bring in a consultant to coach managers would be very helpful. Decisions seem to be made on taking care of those that have been around for a while even if they may not be the best fit for a position. Implement software industry best practices. Improve communications.

I have been working at Measurement Incorporated full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work from home position with an excellent schedule. Team Leads have been professional to work for so far. Very helpful. Pay is pretty good considering not having to drive to an office or having to go out for lunch. You stay busy the whole shift(s) and time fly's by.

    Cons

I wish so much that the remote scoring projects would last through out the year or at least 10 months so, I don't have to find another job after each short project every year. Another option would be to open more offices around the country (I live in Orlando and the Tampa location is too far from me), I know the offices have longer lasting projects than the remote scoring projects.

    Advice to Management

Please find a way to extend the remote scoring season to a full time, full year occupation or at least 10 months.

I worked at Measurement Incorporated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

None at this time. Prior to its ambitious growth (too much, too fast), it was a family-like atmosphere. The work was hard and the hours were often long, but the flexibility during down times was worth it. However, you had to have the right manager. If not, the best move was to move on.

    Cons

Workers with the most longevity are the first to go during layoffs. Longevity at this company is a liability, not an asset. Senior management made it very clear it does not care about its longtime, loyal employees.

    Advice to Management

Close the business. It will not recover.

I have been working at Measurement Incorporated part-time

    Pros

Great company to work for. The lessons we had to read and score were also very informative and so to me it was also a learning opportunity.

    Cons

None. I was satisfied with the position and company

    Advice to Management

None. A great company to work for

I have been working at Measurement Incorporated full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy work, and leadership is super nice. I started out as a PT employee and was blessed enough to be allowed to work full time. I truly enjoy it. Management was super helpful, always supportive and even though I worked at home alone, I always felt like someone was there for me.

    Cons

SEASONAL-the project is coming to an end soon so I won't be able to keep working for them which is disappointing.
    NO BENEFITS-it is seasonal employment
NO GUARANTEED HOURS-if there are no responses to rate, you don't work...no work, no pay.

    Advice to Management

None, I liked working for your company and look forward to next season.
