    Pros

I honestly don't have any pros to share.

    Cons

As a contractor (consultant) I had to stop work, twice, due to lack of payment for literally months. I received incorrect payments multiple times also. Trying to get anything done on the project I was working on was a huge challenge. Lots of bureaucracy, and not a well-functioning one at that. Tons of wasted time. Probably the most frustrating work experience of my career. I'm glad I was only working as a consultant. I left as soon as I could.

    Advice to Management

Pay people on time. Improve infrastructure.

I worked at MedAssets full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay & benefits. Great work satisfaction by improving outcomes for client hospitals with technology and revenue cycle best practices.

    Cons

Long work hours, travel restrictions, lack of support and poor communication and direction from leadership. Also, no adjustment to project timelines to offset short resources within our group, high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Servant Leadership model is not adopted consistently across practices

Micromanaging Managers who control through intimidation, lack of upward opportunity, terrible moral, instability, no transparency with customers, no transparency with employees.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Managers who intimidate employees.

    Pros

Fairly stable environment to work in. Office space is decent and so is the commute.

    Cons

Some departmental policies don't allow for superstars - there's very little opportunity to go above or beyond. Effort is minimally rewarded

    Advice to Management

Not sure what to say here; Will re-review

I have been working at MedAssets (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Always a lot going on with the company and a lot of room to innovate. Keyword there being "room". More in the cons section. Pay is good, location is nice if you live in Alpharetta

    Cons

While there's plenty of room to innovate, senior leadership doesn't really allow you to. I've brought many ideas to the table which have been shut down because it isn't in scope for that year and getting something in scope is nearly impossible.

The company has been publicly traded since end of 2007 but you'd never know it under Bardis' leadership. The company was very much run like a mom and pop shop until February 2015 when Bardis' was seemingly ousted as CEO. It's no wonder the company has since been sold.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to run a publicly traded company, run it like one, otherwise leave it private so you can do whatever you wish with your profits. Give your business lines the money they need to innovate properly and stop cutting back when they need it most.

I have been working at MedAssets full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people are wonderful!! The atmosphere is relaxed yet productive. There is a strong commitment to charities.

    Cons

The company's culture is rapidly changing due to upper management changing every 2yrs and acquisitions. The compensation is no longer competitive as tenured employees are paid much less than those hired from outside and the benefits package is unimpressive for a healthcare company.

    Advice to Management

Consider a competitive market increase for tenured, top performers

I have been working at MedAssets full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Allows for remote work, independent work, can live anywhere, great co workers, a rewarding position-Market Management team is very tight

    Cons

They don't have the right resources or tools and the support of the remote workers is poor, clients are frustrated and agency partners take advantage

    Advice to Management

Right size the support you offer and make the salaries truly competitive or more people will leave the company
