I have been working at MedExpress Urgent Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Schedule, career growth, working for a company that wants to develop the employees, atmosphere within the Centers

    Cons

None that I can think of!

    Advice to Management

I know there was some fluidity within upper management that caused confusion within the Centers as well as not having dedicated Center Managers for each Center. In some locations, this causes tension both between employees and if patients need to speak to a manager it can be a problem.

I have been working at MedExpress Urgent Care part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working at Med Express is a great opportunity to spread your wings and become more independent as a mid-level provider. You always have access to a board-certified physician to help with any questions or concerns. It is a great atmosphere and the you work with qualified nurses and radiology techs as well as professional front office assistants.

    Cons

There are times that two providers are needed to meet the census demands i.e. flu season and there aren't always two providers scheduled. This makes the wait times longer and patients more impatient which ends up dropping your personal evaluation scores; patients associate whoever they are seeing that day as the one who can control how the clinic is staffed. This, of course, is a decision made by higher-ups.

    Advice to Management

Staff the clinics with at least 2 providers for the flu season just to ensure patients are quickly cared for and the providers are not burned out so quickly.

I have been working at MedExpress Urgent Care full-time

    Pros

Learned medical front office skills so I can find a better job with better pay. Honestly no pros lots of pressure with very low pay and raises so small there really is no opportunity to make decent money.

    Cons

Poor center management, huge turnover with the remaining staff working overtime and short staffed with no management support. Low pay for the responsibility and hours. Horrible schedule because the manager doesn’t care. Working 13 hr days with a half hour lunch early with no other breaks. Forced to make patients put credit cards on file even when the elderly don’t understand. Absolutely worse job I have ever had and looking to leave as soon as I have another job.
