    Pros

    Cons

no career moving opportunities since they are small

    Pros

The company is big enough that you are exposed to a lot of different transactions and accounting scenarios but small enough that you get to see the big picture. They appreciate and reward employees that perform their duties to the best of their abilities and add value to the organization.

    Cons

Typical deficiencies of a corporate office such as interdepartmental communication, but overall, MedQuest is much better than most.

    Advice to Management

Keep adapting. Continue to build consistencies throughout the company and increase the training opportunities.

    Pros

CEO is AMAZING!!! He knows (and addresses) lower-level employees by name and often walks around to "check" on his folks. Never worked for a more sincere, genuine CEO.
-Company is transitioning operationally big-time so the possibility for growth is there
-Allowed to work remotely (sometimes, depending on your department)
-Exposure to different levels of work
    -Some level of job-security

    Cons

-I believe the #1 problem with MedQuest is culture-the culture here has diminished from being a "family-feel, supportive, engaging community" to an under-cutting, secretive, disrespectful and unprofessional (in particular departments) environment.
-Favoritism-across the board-is a HUGE problem here. The company is small/mid-sized, so the cliche is very fitting "it's not what you know but who you know". Many people (whom I cannot state by title due to GD's guidelines) have received promotions STRICTLY due to their longevity -NOT PERFORMANCE. Some of them do not have college degrees but have received senior level promotion. The job descriptions are altered and "ridiculously created" to make it "possible" to give people promotion whether they've truly earned it (through performance) or not. There is no real standard of excellence.
-No communication between management and employees
-Dishonesty among upper management/lack of trust between management and employees
-Unprofessional/disrespect is a common practice from many in finance and development.

    Advice to Management

-Longevity alone should not equal promotion. Reward your employees who are assets to the company in more ways than by the years they've occupied a desk.
-Improve corporate culture by holding managers and uppers accountable for their disrespectful commentary and inappropriate behaviors (gossip, insensitivity, partiality)
-Emotional intelligence is a dire need for many leaders in the organization. Maybe implementing policies or standards of conduct (and forcing leaders to adhere to them) will assist in improving company culture.
-Make professionalism and respect a REQUIREMENT: regardless of a person's title, they are human and therefore deserve respect, especially in the workplace.

    Pros

Vacation time. IT department is great.

    Cons

The management in the accounting department is very unprofessional. It is like being around sorority sisters. They gossip about the whole company more than they work. They also keep a file on employees in which they record every single mistake, error, dumb question asked, and oversight with actual dates and times. I'm not exaggerating. It is hard to believe. This file is not kept for employees that they personally like. You have to walk on egg shells and really pick and choose your words carefully around them.

    Advice to Management

Stop being two-faced. Stop bad mouthing employees and over exaggerating their faults especially if they haven't been with the company for that long and you have....since the beginning of time.

I worked at MedQuest full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health benefits. Cellphone. Way too much marketing material to travel in car with. Hard to decipher through all to distribute to offices. Awful awful professionalism.

    Cons

Disorganization. Management. My boss forgot about meetings. And would advise me of a meeting that same morning an hour before. I had no time to prepare.

    Advice to Management

Take more time to train your employees. They deserve positive reinforcement. Do not always focus on the negative attributes. Train them on how they can move forward and do a better job

    Pros

Medquest has good benefits including a large amount of vacation time beginning after 3 months and reasonable priced health insurance.

    Cons

Medquest says they are working to improve communication. The atmosphere in the Winston Salem office needs help, it can be very clicky.

I have been working at MedQuest full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

We went through a restructuring phase and have replaced some roles with better qualified individuals that will lead us to success. I'm excited about the future with MedQuest & am glad they took measures to rid the company from employees that destroyed morale and the positive culture we used to have.

    Cons

Took them too long to get rid of others that weren't doing their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Keep providing resources & add opportunities for growth.

The salary was amazing! The people were hard working and cooperative. Unfortunately Medquest in St Louis is gone.

    Cons

The headquarters are in Georgia. Communication with upper management was complicated by this issue.
