Pros
Meeting elderly people Setting my own schedule Getting paid for mileage
Cons
Not enough work Wear and tear on my vehicle Sending device back when customer cancels
Continue reading - Current Contractor, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Flexible schedule - deliver when you can but they ride you to do it ASAP
Cons
Has not raised pay since before pandemic ($25 <25 mi, $40 > 25 mi 01/28/2023) so barely worth it now that gas price has doubled along w everything else. TON of unpaid work as about a third of devices don't work after you charge it, test it, then call in for tech support, it's a good twenty minutes of work w/ no compensation to you. Plus, all these poor, sick, isolated clients always need your help for something. I don't mind helping clients but in the two years I've worked, I've received absolutely NOTHING from Medscope for the holidays. I mean even an emailed 'thank you for all you do'. Do any other gig job before this one.

Have been installer about 2.5 years. Easy work. Flexible schedule. Can be pretty lucrative if you're set up right geographically and have a vehicle that gets really good gas mileage.
Cons
Work occasionally gets a little scarce. Not really a con unless you depend on the job to make ends meet. (I appreciate the break every now & then.)

Have empathy
Sep 26, 2019 - Installation Technician in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Make your own schedule, flexibility, pay, conversations with customers. For a job like this, you MUST have patience and empathy. The individuals we are working with are usually elderly and/or disabled. Keep in contact with your customers. Validate appointments prior to arrival to make sure they are home, if you think they may forget. You are an Independent Contractor, which means YOU have to do all of the work. If you are in it just for money, and have no empathy for the groups we are working with, pass on this job! You get money for going to an appointment when they are not home. Reschedule. The reviews on here are so shocking! I do not understand! I love this!! I get to chat with the customers, who may not have anyone else to talk to, are lonely and just want to have a conversation, whose family does not visit, how have no friends, are 70+ year olds who have nobody. If I could, I would have this job full time. My customer list is building but not at a full time job yet. I still do not count that as a negative because MedScope is growing, and it takes time to grow. I am proud to be here.
Cons
I cannot see any cons..

Management does not support the contractors
Jun 15, 2018 - Installer in Hoquiam, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good part time job, flexible schedule
Cons
If you have an issue with the portal, management doesn't listen to your issue. If you try to talk to them about it, they quote back a script. If you want to speak to a live body, they have some kind of answering service after hours that is supposed to send your messages to the appropriate people but it does not happen. I was frustrated because there isn't any help after hours.
Continue readingThank you for taking the time to write an honest review of your experience as a contractor. We are sorry for the issues you ran into, and understand your feelings of frustration. We take comments like this seriously, and have spent the last few months making some major improvements for our contractors. This includes retraining for our current staff on how to best manage installation or appointment issues our contractors face, as well as fully trained after hours technical support on nights and weekends, staffed by MedScope employees, with calls answered live, not returned. We hope these are positive steps to ensure a better contracting experience. We are always working to better ourselves, and we thank you for the constructive criticism.
