I worked at MedStar Ambulance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great place for 911 experience. It's a good place to start out and learn especially if your straight out of school.

    Cons

They do not work with school schedules, and they do what is best for them not the employee. Management doesn't really help when it comes to helping you out when needed. You basically are on your own.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on employees happiness.

    Pros

Great atmosphere on shift with co-workers. Fast Paced, High Energy.

    Cons

In the truck almost constantly if not running a call posted on a street corner or parking lot. Benefit costs are outrageous. Almost $700 a check for my 3 person family.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at MedStar Ambulance for more than 10 years

    Pros

Clean trucks, supply dept, 911 experience guaranteed, and clean facilities

    Cons

Leadership is pitted against road crew, inconsistent discipline, unstable mangement team ( high turnover of supervisors). Poor HR team that is inefficient to the point of hurting employees

    Advice to Management

Step up organization in HR, teach management to work together with road crew, be consistent with policy enforcement, realize limitations of available units vs calls accepted. Have accountabity in management and dispatch.
