I have been working at MedStar Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are fun, flexible and care about the patients and families we care for. We value communication among each other and those involved in care. We appreciate differences.

    Cons

Staffing is not always up to par and the variance in the nursing experience level contributed to unbalanced staffing sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at MedStar Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The hospital is very community oriented and the staff are friendly toward each other across departments At the same time, the hospital has access to a lot of benefits because it is part of the Medstar Health System.

    Cons

Staffing is not always optimal. The float pool for nursing is too small and perhaps to inflexible.

    Advice to Management

Improve the float pool in order to provide coverage if a staff member becomes sick and needs to call out.

    Pros

Opportunity to advance, educational reimbursement, friendly enviroment, great management.

    Cons

Slow to get the advancement, pay & raises could be better.

    Advice to Management

Give credit where credit is due in a timely fashion & be more open minded about the hiring process instead of bogging already overwork staff w/the extra.
