I have been working at MedSynergies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are many opportunities for the right workers in this company. Upword mobility is possible under the right supervisor and the right conditions and talent sets.

    Cons

Certain managers will not have you back, keep good notes and get everything in writing and you will be fine.

    Advice to Management

Better training and attitude toward all workers will enhance performance and job satisfaction more than a free lunch.

I worked at MedSynergies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Before acquisition, it was a small company and a fun, inviting place to work.

    Cons

Lack of direction and communication from executive leadership team. The acquisition took over a year and a half and has still not been completed. In the meantime, a number of people have either left or been laid off. During this time, managers were telling their teams to "sit tight" and "not to worry", when just the opposite was the case. There is a general lack of direction and cohesiveness since Medsynergies has been acquired by Optum. Had I known what a mess things were going to become, I never would have taken the job. It has become the same as any other large organization where you are just an employee ID and your opinions and contributions don't matter.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent and honest with your employees about what is going on. Communicate more. When a company is acquired, it may not always be best to completely wipe any traces of what made it stand out as unique in the first place.

I worked at MedSynergies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were very knowledgeable employees with proven success records. However, these people were also pushed around, underpaid and unappreciated.
A few senior managers were legit people who knew how to.maintain good leadership and business practices.

    Cons

I was offered my position in a "flex" schedule (told this was a new role)
Company did a compete bait and switch.
I couldn't get answers from anyone.
Was strung along stuffing envelopes and not receiving training while the entire department was being bombarded with tasks that the SOP wasn't even designed for yet.
Made to feel quite incapable and not of any value.

Direct Manager had quite a personal problem with me. Apparently my desire to want to learn made her feel intimidated. Very degrading in her communication to me. Not only one on one but in the presence of our team. Singled me out and kept tabs on me down to the minutes I was using the restroom. She made it a point to basically do anything she could to try and push me over the edge. Was constantly approached and accused of the most ridiculous things. It was constant drama which led to more frustration and stress.
Broke multiple agreements. Contradicted everything- then I ended up being punished for needing to request an Accomodation under the ADAAA.
THIS RESULTED IN THE MOST DISGUSTING EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE WITH A COMPLETELY ROOKIE LEVEL MANAGEMENT TEAM WHO WERE INCAPABLE OF DOING THEIR JOB. INCLUDING ABIDING BY THE LAW THIS IS PROTECTED UNDER.

    Advice to Management

Start taking the time to Hire qualified people. Quit trying to toot your horns and learn your job. Sad when your staff are the ones doing your job duties because your underqualified. Not to mention no one ever knows what's going on, and the so called corporate office is a sorry joke of a call center with a revolving door of employees.
Too much attention is being paid to look at acquiring new business and making millions more however they can but not one person has a plan in place or follows thru in making this successful.
Medical Company making the big bucks while screwing up the industry.

I worked at MedSynergies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paid well, able to wear jeans daily for a small donation to Wounded Warriers.

    Cons

Way to many to list in a 20 word minimum. They ruined what was a great place to work before they took over.

    Advice to Management

Medical Billing succeeds when you have happy employees, who work towards patient satisfaction. Not how much money you can make at any cost. Management preach integrity to employees, but management also need to practice what they preach. When you hire a certain clique of bad apples as management, everyone else suffers.
