    I have been working at Medallia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company offers growth opportunities, great leaders with vision, diverse and inclusive culture, Sky-is-the-limit attitude, customer/employee centric company. Real tech unicorn story.

    Cons

    Managing rapid growth is challenging. Finding the right team (people, structure and leadership) has been a long process - so much change has been challenging for some teams.

    Advice to Management

    Keep listening to your employees, to you clients - never stop Pushing for Great!

    I have been working at Medallia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Incredible people. Growth mindset
 . Best eng team I have ever worked with.

    Strong sales leadership
-- less ra-ra, but more strategic than before .

    Great product in a great space. What's better than working for a company whose mission is to provide a software platform that transforms the way companies improve the customer experience ?

    I'm blown away by the new office.

    Cons

    The roadmap is very demanding and, while the vision stays the same, priorities change. Too often sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    Stay authentic. Prioritize more. Hire or develop stronger leaders.

    I have been working at Medallia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great product that is rapidly innovating in a very fast growing space
    -Clear leader in the CX space with marquee clients across industry
    -Solid financial position and impressive board
    -Overall great attitude from others in the company who assume positive intent and live the culture
    -Strong leadership pedigree from diverse backgrounds at very reputable companies
    -Moving into a brand new beautiful office in San Mateo that's accessible to the Caltrain in May
    -Continental breakfast provided daily and catered lunch twice a week with plentiful snacks in between
    -On-site gym

    Cons

    -No 401k match
    -No office in San Francisco
    -Product can be very complex and difficult to work with
    -Despite the sustained rapid growth, IPO seems like it's always just a year away, granted this is being determined by people far closer to this than me.
    -Culture of recurring meetings can strangle productivity on most important tasks

    Advice to Management

    Stay the course, don't lose touch with the company you founded, the people or the customers that got you there. Continue to maintain the environment of trust and transparency.

    I worked at Medallia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Benefits
    * Unlimited PTO
    * Not a lot of oversight

    Cons

    * The upper management stack for security is more interested with looking good than doing the right thing
    * Feedback is not taking cyclically, funny for a CEM company
    * Security senior management doubled down on low morale citing that "It wasn't the lowest in the company" (It was the second lowest)
    * A culture of loudest voice wins
    * If you say something or do something that the management stack doesn't approve of, they give you the silent treatment for a few months.
    * You're only valuable if you make your managers look good
    * Limited to no recognition of contributions
    * You don't have a voice unless you are a manager
    * Your management doesn't look out for you if you're doing quality work and undervalued yourself (compensation)
    * There's a trapped feeling if you came here and you're trying to clear citizenship requirements

    Advice to Management

    Hold people accountable. Take feedback seriously. If a mass exodus of staff occurs, its probably not them, its you.

    More importantly, ensure you don't oversell the job.

    I have been working at Medallia as a contractor

    Pros

    great dynamics, creative vibe, and diversity, great healthy food catered twice weekly, and great social places (nice out door place, casual game open space, lots of sofas to sit and work. Management levels pretty flat and accessible.

    Cons

    Laid back in terms of planning, setting measurable success, and tracking accomplishments. Could improve the employees attitude toward contractors as partners vs second hand citizen. The work environment is open but laud and hard to concentrate. No huddle room and phone booth to focus on work. full time employees seems to have trust issue with contractors , and often disengaged them (i.e., share documents, is harder, engage contractors in projects that they assigned them to work on could improve as well). People language is very poor. I felt like I am in a restaurant kitchen, where people swears and makes the environment a bit uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

    Trust issue between management and the employees. Communications are not clear, as no formal and periodic communications are scheduled. More at hoc communications.. my observation is that the managements are spending less time understanding the work load of their team members in detail, but provide high expectations on goals. I am positive management is making progress with communication to get ready to move from start up mode to enterprise and professional environment.

    Pros

    Good work life balance;
    Learning at my own pace;
    A lot of opportunities to interact with clients;
    Nice colleagues;
    Unicorn status;

    Cons

    Learning curve depends on individual;
    Promotion is slow and trajectory unclear;
    Too many failed internal initiatives resulted from unclear strategy roadmap;

    Advice to Management

    Need to really figure out the strategy roadmap and stick to it.
