    Pros

You have a job, you can hold on to. Friendly people to work with. They try to make working hear fun.

    Cons

not much room for advancement in the company. Its a family company so you get overlooked for better position because they hire their family into the salaried positions

    Advice to Management

Try to open salaried positions to people who are qualified. Their are a log of people with degrees who can't get into better positions due to favoritism for family members., Makes this a place to avoid if you looking for a career

    Pros

Highly engaged management. Fast pass and agressive , great innovative company. Focused on results.

    Cons

Timelines were insane at times. SGA was out of control in the last years I was there. Trying to do too much too soon when marketplace was not ready for it

    Advice to Management

This was a great company however we then merged with Express Scripts. The culture was changed and in the end what once was a great company to work for , turned into a challenging place to be

    Pros

Medco Health was a high flyer in the Pharmacy Benefits space... leadership, innovation, really smart employees...

    Cons

Leadership sold the company, once Express Scripts took over, it became a very different company, with bottom line priorities.

    Pros

Decent pay, some great managers, work at home opportunities, great benefits

    Cons

I had literally well over 100 achievement awards. I got ill with pneumonia one year, had surgery the next, had a miscarriage, and then a high-risk pregnancy and ran out of FMLA time. I truly believe that they would have kept me if ES had not taken over. Communication was a definite issue between management and work at home employees.

    Advice to Management

Make your team feel valuable, Try to ensure that they are cross-trained so that there is not so much pressure on just a few people. Treat them like people and not just numbers.

I worked at Medco Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Regular hours, good base pay, opportunity for overtime with extra pay, scheduled breaks and paid time off. Friendly coworkers when in a closed environment.

    Cons

Worker intimidation by both staff and management. Could not work at own pace or voice opinion without repercussions. Threat of physical intimidation was constant and workers were arranging themselves along racial and ethnic lines even to the extent of suppressing others because they do not fit in to those cliques.

    Advice to Management

Glad this company is no more having been merged with Expressed Scripts.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Very large company. Vacation time was 1 week your first year. You also had 8 rolling PTO days for each year. Medical benefits were very good no co pay or very little. Stock options after 1 year also. Pharmacists were super friendly. Management seemed to really have a concern for your well being. Employee longevity after 1 year. People seem to stay for 10 and 15 years or more.

    Cons

Very corporate structure. If you lack on any policy or procedure there are consequences, understandably. Pay scale is very slow to rise. Some of the people can be very gossipy. I feel its because they or ok with people holding the same position in the company for 10 years or more.

    Advice to Management

I really don't have any advice. Upper management gets a little caught up in the corporate entanglement, but middle and lower management just want too see that you are working and if you have potential to do better they will suggest you do.
