    Pros

Coworkers are great, both personally and professionally. Great opportunity for growth and the chance to work with new technologies. Flexibility in working at home and the office is a real help for work life balance.

    Cons

Process improvements are underway, however consistency in understanding the changes could be more uniform. Balancing needs of customers on prior releases, while transitioning to a new platform.

    Advice to Management

Validate that changes are applied consistently across the organization.

    Pros

    Ability to work from home.
New office setting close to KOP.
Fast pace environment - using up to date technology.

    Cons

    Complete lack of work/life balance.
Poor management and senior leadership - communication gap between management and staff continues to widen.
    Unable to retain top talent.
Outsourcing core technical resources/positions to over sea's.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Medecision full-time

    Pros

Interesting time to be working in health care IT; great opportunity to work on a new project designed to address the current and future needs in the industry; much flexibility for work/life balance.

    Cons

Inability of senior management to make decision that allow projects to proceed in a timely manner - frustrating starts and stops; leads to being behind others in having a product ready for market - question the viability of the company long-term - not nimble; lag in creating world-class customer service - long history; performance evaluation program is all about structure that rewards high-flyers but does little to provide substantive support for employee development - deadlines are regularly not met by senior staff with no accountability and MJOs are created/revised without discussion halfway through the year.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

They gave me a great salary. Also, there's some really smart people there, who know so much about technology. Additionally, open source software is not just tolerated; it's used almost everywhere. The people are pretty fun to be around too.

    Cons

Management is not good, overall. Some managers are awesome, don't get me wrong, but others are very risk averse, unmotivational, and suck any willingness you may have to do right by the company.

If you end up as a coder, realize that the code is a mess. Management is too risk averse (overall) to try to fix that.

The direction of the company is gonna be interesting under the new CEO (Miss Gage).

    Advice to Management

MEDecision is a software company; it should be led by software people. The missed deadlines, many bugs, etc. is a result of poor technological management.
