I worked at Medi Home Health full-time

    Pros

The job gives you the opportunity to help individuals that wish to stay at home instead of going into an assisted living facility.

    Cons

The managing executive in the Pittsburgh area recruited her own children that were unqualified to perform the task at hand. As a result of this nepotism, morale declined, resentment increased and deserving staff were overlooked.

I have been working at Medi Home Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

We have some of the best nurses, and clinical staff in the area. We have a separate on call team for nights and weekends which allows for everyone to have less involvement with covering after hours. We have nurses working in each big city that they live near so drive is kept to a feasible amount. Management is open and wants to hear from the staff.

    Cons

Having to pick up extra shifts if the on call team is off.

I worked at Medi Home Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity for overtime if you are okay with working day and night 24/7.

    Cons

Higher offer of pay at start, then no raises ever! Long hours and long distances between patients.

    Advice to Management

Treat people the way you would want to be treated! Stop promoting your friends! Very cliquish organization.

    Pros

Ability to work part time, flexibility of hours.

    Cons

Pay scale is very low. Home visits are paid at a rate that doesn't account for all the travel and electronic documentation time resulting in actually lower hourly rate.

I worked at Medi Home Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent staff at the Richmond, VA office! Upbeat, professional and passionate about patients. The person over Human Resources is one of the best individuals I have every worked with.

    Cons

The Manager I reported to (was not at the RVA location) was not equipped with the skills necessary to be a successful Manager. This person had no clinical skills, poor time management (meetings that should be 30 mins lasted 3-4 hours), gossiped among employees, talked negatively about employees and micromanaged. They were not open to change - very much a "my way or the highway" type of managerial attitude.
