I have been working at MediLodge full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a good family environment. Enjoy the people i work with and the residents i care for.

    Cons

Not having enough staff. Unappreciated and overworked. No incentive to want to go above and beyond.

    Advice to Management

Show your staff more appreciation. Accomodate for the work and effort they put into your facility. Be more involved in what happens on the floor as opposed to just your office work.

I worked at MediLodge full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

New DON/ADON are VERY approachable and do genuinely want to help the staff. Decent pay, good benefits (although expensive for families), very willing to work with you on your schedule and excellent about giving time off.

    Cons

Understaffed and over-worked (like every other SNF/Rehab center out there). Patient/Staff ratios are legal, but as is the case with every facility like this, there are way too many patients to be able to provide reasonable, safe and effective care to the patients.

    Advice to Management

I realize that the immediate management of this facility has their hands tied to a point because they need to answer to a corporate office in KY. However, it would be a good idea to remind the corporation that although they are a business, their product is actually caring for people - someone out there loves each and every one of those residents/patients. In order to reasonably care for patients, there should be a MUCH better patient:nurse staffing ratio. In my opinion, each and every one of the corporate members who makes money, staffing, supply, etc. decisions should be made to work the floor alongside the nurses to see what is exactly entailed in keeping residents not only safe, but happy and comfortable - because the bottom line is any reasonable person would want their loved one to be treated that way if they were the one receiving care. Maybe then there would be a shift in appropriate staffing levels beyond legal requirements. I can tell you without hesitation that this would help the bottom line of the company because then there would be better staff retention, happier employees and people would be lining up out the door to get into these facilities and every bed would be filled constantly.

    Pros

I loved the patients, I liked the staff. The scheduler Lloyd seemed to be one of few who really care about staff.

    Cons

The new administrator seem to be money hungry. Cut staffing hours, so less staff had more duties. Not too many cons

I worked at MediLodge full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a contractor making them money, I guess they pay there employees good?

    Cons

Very unprofessional, rude and they ignore EMS when we walk in 90% of the time. They act like we are supposed to know exactly where everybody is and the door codes that they change and don't tell anybody? We don't work there! If you don't like working in a nursing home then don't. I will be filing a complaint with coporate.

    Advice to Management

Have a long talk with your employees on N Drake Rd about what professionalism is.

I have been working at MediLodge full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good floor staff. Director and managers hard working and try to support staff and processes

    Cons

Long work hours to a poin that mistakes happen. Huge turn over in upper management. Just get used to one director and here comes another

    Advice to Management

Administrator is belittelung, rude and does not support her management. Managers and directors come and go every 6 month.

    Pros

Nice facility, understanding residents, flexible hours.

    Cons

Low supplies, no communication, lack of supplies, understaffing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what employees have to say because they are actually out on the floor listening to resident needs.

    Cons

Everything is awful, if you value yourself you would not work here. No one smiles or is friendly especially the administrator!
