I have been working at Media Assembly full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Close to Grand Central
    - Good standard intro to the media agency
    - New office space is cool

    Cons

    - The turnover is wildly high, even for this industry
    - Upper management, with some exceptions, are set in their ways and inflexible
    - Employees are not valued (leading to the turnover problem, no doubt)
    - Promotions and raises happen on a schedule only twice a year instead of fairly rewarding employees when they deserve it
    - Depending on your team and manager, your hours can be extremely long. A big disparity between teams leaving at 5 and other teams staying until 8

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible. It's 2018 and there needs to be better work/life balance. It's time to let good people do their work on their time without being micromanaged. Hire better people and invest in them.

I worked at Media Assembly full-time

    Pros

Highly driven by new technology, great benefits, and PTO, ambitious but thoughtful in growth target; educated and business-minded management

    Cons

Lacking ethnic diversity in the Southfield office.
Easy to get overlooked or lost in the shuffle.

    Pros

The beer on tap is my go to for all the stress you'll encounter on a day to day, ok coworkers

    Cons

In the 4 years that I worked here, I had 6 supervisor changes, 3 CEO changes, 4 "restructurings" and watched a lot of people get laid off. The pay is super low and don't expect more than a 1.5% raise if you even get one that year. The morale is low and turnover is high. Everything is budget driven and most of the time 1 person does the job of 3 or 4 people.

I worked at Media Assembly full-time

    Pros

-Some of the work they want to do is pretty advanced and they are ambitious
    - The pay was actually pretty solid

    Cons

-KGB like environment where people will report what you said and twist to ingratiate to upper management
    - I was once called into a meeting where someone had put together a power point to political ruin other VPs. They then took up the power points and destroyed them
    - When i expressed reports stretching the truth to a point I considered unethical, i was told to go with it or they would black ball me from the industry
    - Its very hierarchical, and not very cooperative.

    Advice to Management

You need to stop reaching for advanced work and get the basics done. If the amount of resumes that have crossed my desk are any indication, you are bleeding talent.

I worked at Media Assembly full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great work environment and flexibility with schedule. The benefits are solid and the compensation was very competitive. Very creative in approach to media and in differentiating itself from the large holding companies. I worked for a large holding company for many years and found the non-holding company philosophy/approach refreshing. Diverse employee population with a nice balance of millennials to Gen Xer's.

    Cons

The NYC location was a bit of a challenge for me. The organization has younger managers and needs more training to get them up to the task. The planning teams need more digital talent.

    Advice to Management

Communication is key. You have the right formula but need to make sure you communicate often and effectively.

    Cons

Some of the upper management members are not setting realistic expectations/timelines. Teams are under staffed, which leads to frustration; late hours and mistakes!

    Advice to Management

Starts with upper management! People who care, not only about the business, but also about the teams they are leading. Managers who can set realistic expectations and help team members advance.
