Great place to learn about advertising technology, not great for job-based skills

Nov 4, 2014 - Senior Client Services Manager in New York, NY

    Pros

MediaMind (now Sizmek) has a product or partnership for every digital advertising technology need, which makes it a great place to learn about the marketplace and existing solutions. Once you've proved to be a dependable employee, there is an incredible amount of flexibility - unlimited vacation, work from home, time allowed for volunteering. Middle management, generally speaking, is actually very knowledgeable on the offering/products.

    Cons

Training for job-based skills such as client services, escalation, sales, etc. is non-existent. Very much a figure it out mentality for everything besides "the platform". Payment is average though the expectations for the pay isn't really fair. Leadership at the executive level is a joke - there is only quarterly communication from the CEO, if that. And basically no communication from other C-Level or country level executives.

There is a big gap between execs and the rest of the company.

Sep 28, 2014 - Client Services Manager in Austin, TX

    Pros

The people around you are nice. Open space leads to more interaction between teams. Free snacks and taco Mondays. Some happy hours and internal events every now and then.

    Cons

Executives moved to Austin and they never really introduced themselves to the office. Many employees don't even know who is who. Plus, who wants to work at a place where the company's own CEO won't even say hi to you and looks the other way when running into him in the hallway.

Great group of people wth serious room for improvement

    Pros

Fantastic group of people you get to work with, young and surprisingly low amount of turnover

    Cons

Unclear direction for future of company, stronger emphasis on acquisition, then integration of existing properties, R&D an absolute nightmare to deal with, but you do have some input in product direction.

    Pros

    Work/Life balance. Neutral Work environment

    Cons

Went from working for a company that handled everything in house, to a company that outsources a lot. The typical turn-around time went from 2 hrs to 48 hrs for a simple issue.
