    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Medical Anesthesia Consultants full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

MAC has work locations throughout the S.F. Bay Area, with a large outpatient presence. Over the years, I've been able to settle into a practice that suits my interests. The salary is competitive, and the clinical sites are topnotch. Admin is very helpful and flexible with the schedule, and extra work is well compensated. CME and leadership training is funded by the employer, nice!

    Cons

MAC is growing rapidly and this can stretch staffing thin.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Medical Anesthesia Consultants full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The centers and physicians are great to work with.

    Cons

The company is changing so much in the last few years and will continue to due to mergers. With much turnover in all departments it is hard to do anything but play catch up. Management is lost and only there for themselves, clinical and admin management. They do not follow their own mission and culture speech.

I have been working at Medical Anesthesia Consultants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is competitive for Bay Area, maybe slightly less than average. Great place to get experience with difficult cases and sometimes very sick patients.

    Cons

Long hours, including many weekend and night calls. Benefits are OK. Hospitals covered are decent to excellent

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Medical Anesthesia Consultants

    Pros

    location, location, location, location, location

    Cons

low pay, poor benefits (actually really no benefits), pitiful retirement plan, and you personally pay for the employer tax on your behalf... The administration has absolutely NO respect for the physicians. If I could give it zero star, I would

I worked at Medical Anesthesia Consultants full-time

    Pros

The anesthesia group covers several excellent hospitals and some community hospital. The clinical experience is an excellent learning experience since the patients are very sick.

    Cons

Extremely long work hours, sometimes 80 hours straight when taking weekend call. Low pay considering the difficulty of cases and the high cost of living in the Bay Area. Bad retirement benefits.
