I worked at Medical Center Arlington full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

there is nothing that i can think of. the entire hospital (with the exception of the mother and baby area) should be torn down and built back up.

    Cons

understaffed, unorganized, unsafe/risk! the emr system here is not good at all.

    Advice to Management

this is not a safe environment to work! the patients are not being cared for properly. the ED is very nasty for the patients, and the practices there should be reevaluated!

I have been working at Medical Center Arlington (More than a year)

    Pros

Medical Center of Arlington has open minded management, excellent physicians, and a friendly atmosphere to work in. I highly recommend working at this medical center.

    Cons

Medical Center of Arlington does have a lacking benefit program. Also the attendance policy is strict. Employees are only allowed 3 absences in a rolling year. Unfortunately most of our illnesses areobtained at the hospital. At least our FMLA law stands by our side.

    Advice to Management

It would be extremely helpful to have better benefit package. Also employees feel that the employer expects workers to be unsuceptable to germs however we work in an environment full of germs. Employees are human too.

I worked at Medical Center Arlington full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are many nice people that work there. Other departments are very respectful.

    Cons

The engineering director threatens to replace his staff at least once a week. He takes everything personally and does not put what is best for the hospital first. Very low pay and hospital infrastructure in extremely poor condition. Back stabbing and personal sabotage abounds. Zero training and acclimation. Had to threaten to quit my first day just to get the director to have someone show me rounds and mechanical rooms. A few good employees but not worth the nightmare. Retaliation by director expected.

    Advice to Management

To the hospital President and Vice Presidents: Have an informal sit down with staff of this department and see how inept and close minded the director is.

I worked at Medical Center Arlington part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A small number of nurses who are still there are nothing less than wonderful. This is where you learn the value of teamwork.

    Cons

PCAs take no responsibility and more times than not create more work for nurses. Upper management provides no support and appear to have no idea what it is their nurses go through to provide care.

    Advice to Management

Support your nurses. I would also recommend hiring managers who have a broad knowledge base in nursing along with a solid management background.
