I have been working at Medical Center Arlington part-time

    Pros

Nice staff. Everyone was very friendly.

    Cons

No one wants to do their job. Everything falls back on the nurse. Half of the staff are contract employees. Management is a joke. Pay is not competitive. The charting system is the worse. The hospital is a mess and I seriously wouldn't go there for care.

    Pros

The staff is friendly and helpful. My boss and other members of nursing administration is very helpful.I had a son die the staff was very concerned told me to take all the time I needed.

    Cons

No home base to work from. Does not make decisions in a timely manner. Increased work load and not enough staff.

    Advice to Management

They took my home base and now I have to chart wherever I can. Can't decide on what to do.

I have been working at Medical Center Arlington full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I'm learning a LOT for nursing school. I'm developing communication skills that I will be able to use for the rest of my life.

    Cons

Sometimes my schedule is not as flexible as I would like for nursing school and I don't really understand the management of the hospital.

    Advice to Management

Nurses don't want free lunch or keychains to make up for being understaffed. They want an environment that doesn't put their safety or licenses at risk, and more support when it comes to patient complaints and/or workplace issues.

I worked at Medical Center Arlington full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

there is nothing that i can think of. the entire hospital (with the exception of the mother and baby area) should be torn down and built back up.

    Cons

understaffed, unorganized, unsafe/risk! the emr system here is not good at all.

    Advice to Management

this is not a safe environment to work! the patients are not being cared for properly. the ED is very nasty for the patients, and the practices there should be reevaluated!

I have been working at Medical Center Arlington (More than a year)

    Pros

Medical Center of Arlington has open minded management, excellent physicians, and a friendly atmosphere to work in. I highly recommend working at this medical center.

    Cons

Medical Center of Arlington does have a lacking benefit program. Also the attendance policy is strict. Employees are only allowed 3 absences in a rolling year. Unfortunately most of our illnesses areobtained at the hospital. At least our FMLA law stands by our side.

    Advice to Management

It would be extremely helpful to have better benefit package. Also employees feel that the employer expects workers to be unsuceptable to germs however we work in an environment full of germs. Employees are human too.
