I have been working at Medical City Dallas Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people I work with are great. Managers , directors and other leaders really care. Flexible schedule, job security , very busy hospital with high acuity.

    Cons

Staffing can be tight at times it's supplement with pool and travel but I think RN staffing in Dallas is tight everywhere

I worked at Medical City Dallas Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked with some really nice people.

    Cons

Would cut shift 1 hour prior to when night shift started. Promises made by upper management were not kept and they felt they didn't have to explain their reason for why the promise wasn't kept. Lots of medical staff didn't know what they were doing.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your staff by more than a number and time clock punch.

I worked at Medical City Dallas Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I liked my fellow rn colleagues and charge nurse. Covered parking was nice to have. Employee events were fun to go to. CEO seemed like a good guy- very personable and a good motivational speaker.

    Cons

No techs, understaffed every shift it seems. Manager unbelievably out of touch with employee needs. I didn't like being forced to sit in unit staff meetings for 90 minutes after working a night shift. Also, charge nurse always had patients as well. Many times I had no help from charge bc she was always busy with her patients.

    Advice to Management

Proper staffing would help with patient care, safety, and satisfaction scores all across the board. Let the late shift go home and sleep after a shift and schedule unit meetings to accommodate us if they are so important to attend.
