I worked at Medical College of Wisconsin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-High pay for security field, around $17 starting
    -Ample overtime
-Easy job, guarantee not to get fired as long as you show up and do the minimum amount of work required
    -Benefits are good
-Lots of free time to watch videos, read, get your degree online while at work

    Cons

-Management has no front line security or law enforcement work leaving them out of touch
-Department staffing is almost 50% “supervisors”, very top heavy
-Members of management behave like the department is a police department, taking actions that should be left to the real police instead of handling them internally
-Management nitpicks the smallest things because nothing of importance happens
-Absolutely no sense of professional meaning with this job. Worked for three years with this department and left feeling like I made a difference maybe once or twice. Got hired on by a large police department and literally accomplished more in a day at the new job than I did during my entire time at MCW

The people you get to work with aside from the PI's

    Cons

PI, faculty - some of them are amazing but there are a few that dilute the water.
