I have been working at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are significant growth opportunities available. If you demonstrate passion, a strong work ethic and a desire to grow, the sky is the limit at MDL. They are growing rapidly (in both biotech and hospitality) and building career paths, expanding benefits and recognizing talent. The company is offering more employee events and is working to build morale.

    Cons

All companies face growing pains. Employees think things won’t improve, therefore some complain and others leave. It will take time to build a strong foundation.

    Advice to Management

Employees see the improvements and are happy and appreciative for the positive change.

I worked at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You make your own schedule between 9-5, so long as you get done what you need to get done. Don't have a manager monitoring you 24/7

    Cons

You're on your own, you do have access do other managers and coworkers via phone though. Reimbursement checks take over a month to be distributed. Lots of driving Depending on your position and # of accounts, it can be difficult to manage the workload. There is no designated location to work. Information about products and other policies may be overwhelming at times

    Advice to Management

Continue to provide the resources needed for workers to succeed in day to day tasks, and prioritize information that is applicable to NOW. Also, speed up the process of reimbursement checks

    Pros

Good for getting your foot in the door for a call center/office position. Pay is above minimum wage but still could probably be a bit better. Fun work environment depending on the people you have in your dept to get you through the day.

    Cons

Pay could be better. No opportunity for advancement. Awful health insurance plans.

I worked at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great opportunity to get experience across numerous business areas. People at senior levels are fantastic.

    Cons

Pay is very far below market (50% or more). Turnover is very very high across the businesses. Benefits are absolutely terrible and very expensive. No opportunity for advancement or increase in pay. Regardless of weather, get in or use a PTO day. No flexible work accommodations.

    Advice to Management

Direct some money toward employee pay and benefits. Work to retain talent. With many employees, you get what you pay for.

I worked at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Flexibility and ability to make own schedule - Very involved manager, but was not micromanaged - Decent training - Decent base salary

    Cons

    - Unrealistic quota - The salary of 50k is offered due to the terrible commission structure - Commission offered is not the structure described before taking the job - Turnover extremely high - Manager plays favorites - Very stressful to meet quota - Labcorp and Quest are much better - Constant billing complaints from offices and patients

    Advice to Management

Upper management are power hungry and only money driven. Value your sales reps, they work extremely hard for little recognition.

I worked at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Flexibility - Minimal Reporting or Management - Work from home - Food when lunching a client

    Cons

    - Highest turnover I have ever seen in a company. - No responses from managmeent. - Unclear rules, territories, heirarchy - No manager for periods of time - No feedback, performance review - System crashes frequently - Expense reimbursement takes over a month - Rude and disrespectful executives and staff - Minimal differentiators making sales very hard - Extremely unrealistic quotas

    Advice to Management

Lower/more attainable/managable quotas, take care of your employees, create stability and consistency within management, equal treatment of employees, find a better operating system to prevent crashes, offer more differentiators because competition offers the same, investigate your middle management for inconsistencies/unprofessionalism and actually pay the federal limit for gas reimbursement. Overall, rethink the entire...

I worked at Medical Diagnostic Laboratories full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Get your foot in the door to medical sales but don’t expect this to be a career or even a decent job.

    Cons

This has been the most unprofessional company I have ever worked for. I don’t know where to start but basically they promised me the world before agreeing to work for them, and once starting things changed rapidly. Company car, after you prove your worth so at least 6 months. Before then they reimburse you 32 cents a mile, but nothing over 2000 miles. You WILL drive over 2000 miles a month and they will expect you to...

    Advice to Management

They aren’t going to listen, management was cussing about a client in their parking lot in front of patients. Not a professional company what so ever.
