I have been working at Medical Mutual part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a job in this unstable workforce

    Cons

They hire mostly African American for customer service. It's all about who you know in this place to move up. You have to be a "favorite " just to get a raise and management will give them a raise and use a dumb excuse as to why as if everyone in the department can't see what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Please stop playing favorite and giving raises to the individuals that don't deserve it. Just because a lot of management don't have degrees because they have been there for over 10 years don't look down or try and not promote those that have degrees especially if they are African American.

I have been working at Medical Mutual full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great fitness center and cafeteria. Community service is big on the list. Love some of the people I work with

    Cons

No room for advancement and management does not have their finger on the pulse or empower the employees that know what's going on in the business to make the best decisions for the company. Not a place to further your career. So many are retiring or leaving because it's changed for the worse.

    Advice to Management

Don't skimp on training and truly listen to those hard-working employees. There's some great ideas there.

I have been working at Medical Mutual full-time

    Pros

Once training is complete, the office setting is really laid back. Supervisors don't breathe on your neck all day.

    Cons

Favoritism is definitely an issue making promotions extremely hard in the Toledo area especially for POC

I have been working at Medical Mutual full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Medical Mutual is one of the few companies out there with career long employees which fosters a real family like environment. This is a company you can look to retire from! The compensation package is above average. Many are promoted from within and there is plenty of room for growth.

    Cons

The building is long overdue for a total makeover of our workspaces! There has been rumors of a possible move for years and maintenance has obviously taken a backseat while the decision is made.

    Advice to Management

MMO has awesome managers! I would like to suggest that the input of dedicated employees be seriously taken into consideration when decisions are made that will affect them.
