I worked at Medical Services of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None that I can think of. Management does not care about their employees.. it's easier to hire a bunch of temporary people then give raises to long term employees.

    Cons

Terrible company to work for if you weren't in the In Crowd

    Advice to Management

I would suggest since the owners children are running the company that they need college degrees

I have been working at Medical Services of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are several hard working and dedicated clinicians who are passionate about what they do. However, most have been terminated or resigned due to poor leadership and low census.

    Cons

The interview process was a slow one. It took more than a month before the offer letter was sent regarding my position. Leadership lacks the following: background in the HH industry, education and skills to lead a sales team. Incompetent! Lacks the ability to communicate effectively with the sales team. Unable to speak or communicate with proper grammar. Embarrassing to introduce to accounts. Very sneaky and manipulative. Creates drama and thrives on it. AE are set up for failure, no training, guidance, direction or support. AE/sales is a turn and burn atmosphere every 4-6 months. It's a revolving door in Florida. There have been more than five or more AE terminated during the 4 short months of my employment. A direct reflection of the MSA leadership. The AE position at MSA is a temporary one 4-6 months at best. MSA does not have a presence in the community and is referred to as a start up company, with a star rating of 3 it's impossible to gain hospital business. MSA does but value or invest in their employees. If you're a medical sales professional this position will become a stain on your resume. Don't waste your time.

    Advice to Management

Sales leadership is the weakest link in the MSA(sales) organization. During my employment, Leadership failed to organize team meetings, conference calls, ride alongs, etc. It was only after numerous e-mails for help and support did I receive a follow up but failed to offer any guidance. This role requires a dynamic person to motivate, inspire, coach, mentor and lead by example. leadership at MSA is non existent. Perhaps MSA will do their due diligence next time when selecting qualified candidates for leadership roles.

    Pros

    Good benefits
    So so pay
    Great experience in medical equipment

    Cons

The management structure that is totally blind deaf dumb and outright stupid.

The regional management feels like they are running a prison and treat everyone working there as if it was a prison, so if they want to treat it as a prison they feel that they must pay them prison wages or I should say slave labor wages to the employees. They treat employees as if they were peasants obviously there are much more better educated than they are and they display the most vulgar attitude towards their lower-level employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating their employees as if they were chatting or even worse peasants learn some civil and social niceties to treat them and to talk to them and not address them as an uneducated rabble from which upper management came from.

I worked at Medical Services of America (More than a year)

    Pros

In the past, good place to work. Corporate gives away too much authority and power. They have no idea of what the home care industry is like but drive good people away while hiring family and friends who are in-competent and malicious.

    Cons

Low pay, no raises, no positive feed back even when doing well, corporate doesn't even communicate new regs and what they are doing corporately to follow the new regs. Top management doesn't even know how to run a business, so busy hiring their friends and relatives and putting them in high paying job, corporate all take vacations together and forget that there are jobs to do. Slow payment of creditors and expense checks. They ruin an office then get rid of people and blame them for corporate's mistakes. Financials are a joke can't even support their figures, just make them up so corporate looks good and branches dont

    Advice to Management

Sell the company and go live in your multi-million dollar houses while under paying employees so you can afford the payments on your big vehicles and houses

    Pros

Whatever was good there, is gone.

    Cons

Horrific management. They put people who have no business managing in management because they do not want to pay people with experience and knowledge- and by now they have such bad reputation that people will not work for them. Gestapo is the best way to describe the management style of the administrators in Virginia offices. Turn over is just frightening: everyone is frantically looking for a better job.

    Advice to Management

Just sell the company already. It's clearly going downhill- fast. Maybe someone else can make it better.

I worked at Medical Services of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is something to do while you are unemployed. That's about it.

    Cons

Management lies and is quick to throw you under the bus. If your documentation is not correct, you do not get paid. Your notes are written on your own time, for free. They will tell you your work region is one area, then send you somewhere completely different, that is further away. DOPS shaves your mileage, so they don't have to fully reimburse you. Very poor training, because the staff development coordinator has to work in the field as a nurse herself. They had otber orientees training new staff. After being out in the field, you have to drive all the way back to the Owings Mills office to enter your notes.

    Advice to Management

    Pay the RNs per hour.

    Pros

Nice enough staff, the company isn't equipped to be successful because of current leadership. Most of our competitors take our business because we can't seem to get on track with reality.

    Cons

Current leadership and the corporate office seem to have a disconnect with the local branches and field work. Not sure that this is a company worth working for.

    Advice to Management

    Learn the industry.

I worked at Medical Services of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Advancement, do to my hard work for 10 years without a raise. Finally I was given a bonus from the CEO and was given a raise. The CEO was informed of my dedication by his long time friend. Sad but true!

    Cons

Poor training, work hard and get laid off by an employee with 15 years less experience. Not a well directed company. Insurance is very expensive. Family to the board members are employed all over the company.

    Advice to Management

Get training and never settle with this company. Being loyal for 18 years was a huge regret of mine. Don't make the same mistake.
