    I have been working at Medicines360 full-time

    Pros

The mission of the organization is inspiring; the unique business model means we are at the forefront of a new way of doing business; the leadership is excellent.

    Cons

Small staff means a lot of people are over-stretched and sometimes internal communication is overlooked. Leadership seems committed to improving this.

    Advice to Management

More team building and internal communication about key decisions would further boost morale.

    Pros

Wonderful mission in helping to give women choices when it comes to contraceptives.

    Cons

Management is out of sync with one another which spreads over the office environment. The tension in the workplace is massive and uncomfortable for the other employees and have a dramatic effect on employee moral.

    Advice to Management

Stop the bickering, and find ways to work together peacefully and don't allow the negative energy to continue to a part of the everyday culture in the office. Better communication with your staff is also a must.

    I worked at Medicines360 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of freedom in time management, working from home, dealing with illness. Benefits were competitive and some surprising rewards inclusive of financial and other. Chance to do good work for society.

    Cons

Management decisions are slow in coming. Communication is poor across the organization. Just one or two people make all of the decisions and then fallout comes later.

    Advice to Management

    None they haven't already heard

I have been working at Medicines360 (More than a year)

    Pros

The organization has really created a community out of its employees, partially through their hiring practices and partially via the mission-driven nature of the company that really serves to unify the diverse work that is performed across departments.
Maintaining focus on the mission helps to keep work rewarding.
Schedules are flexible, the office location is convenient, and there is a lot of positive reinforcement from senior management.

    Cons

Sometimes the pace can be a little too fast.
Benefits are good for a non-profit but not amazing, as is to be expected.

I have been working at Medicines360 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Progressive, socially minded company
Highly motivated and highly intelligent colleagues
Strong social justice mission being implemented by health innovation for women's reproductive health
    Convenient financial district (SF) location

    Cons

So much to do, so little time. M360 is a young company, and is trying to tackle a big social problem. This seems to be typical start up fervor, but can feel overwhelming at times.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course and keep us focused on delivery. Young companies risk biting off more than they can chew, so to speak.

  6. "Expectations are not effectively communicated because they are not completely understood by upper management"

    Pros

public transit for Commute, flexible work schedules

    Cons

Management is inept at utilizing subject matter experts for execution of activities at the strategic planning level. Upper management members are unfamiliar with requirements necessary to execute and implement operational activities per regulatory requirements and do not have the subject matter expertise or experience to carry out such activities..

    Advice to Management

Consult subject matter experts or personnel experience before defaulting to the decision of executive members who have no knowledge or working experience in critical areas.

    Pros

The mission of this organization is incredibly clear and well understood by all the employees - provide ALL women the choice of the most effective reversible contraceptive method available.
Over the last 12-18 months, the organization has added significant expertise in key areas of product development, clinical, regulatory, marketing and business development. It is well positioned to make the right decisions to optimize the success of fulfilling the mission.

    Cons

Problem of unintended pregnancies is so big that the organization chews off a bit too much at times.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused!! So many small companies fail because the spread themselves too thin and dilute the effort.
