    Pros

Great place to gain full-circle industry experience. Ocean carriers are a big player in the market so it will be forever helpful (if you intend on staying in the industry) to learn how they operate. Insurance and time off are very good and the company offers all kinds of additional training. Good work life balance, hours are 9-5 with a one hour mandatory lunch.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the pay is famously low starting out, but you will get raises if you do your best. It may be hard to advance your career at MSC, but if you are interested in doing so make sure you let management know as soon as you feel it is appropriate so that you can get on the right path. May experience slight micromanaging at times, stemming down from corporate to the branch offices.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard work, keep making it feel like a family, consider slightly higher compensation.

I worked at Mediterranean Shipping Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work is brain-dead, low stress, and you have good work/life balance if you live near the office. Most people are friendly, revolving door means new coworkers/breathe of fresh air, and you get a lot of vacation/sick days. A good introduction to transportation logistics/maritime, or, if you're older/unmotivated the work is easy and formulaic enough to stay and enjoy the benefits.

    Cons

The pay sucks. The good people leave, and you're left with the older, unmotivated bunch. The few bright leaders/managers here have no chance to foster innovation/growth because the people they are left with to teach are not interested.

    Advice to Management

The work/benefits/atmosphere are fine. Push for higher wages, hire local, and the revolving door problem will fix itself which will, in turn, fix other problems from the ground up.

I worked at Mediterranean Shipping Company full-time

    Pros

First of all i don’t understand why my previous review was deleted! Good working Hours 9-5, apparently the health insurance is good! Lot of vacation days! Also if you’re not a US citizen or resident they will give you sponsorship ( reason why most people are foreig)

    Cons

The pay is really low 28k-30k! They do a lot of micro management, basically the manager use to go through everyone’s emails to check i don’t know what! My manager was very incompetent, first of all she dont have a degree, and she isn’t professional at all! She is friends with some of the old team menbers and does not know how to take decisions! I wonder how she got the position as she had some of the team menbers help her writte email. Very old style company you cant use your cellphone, no wifi, basically you cant do nothing except work hard and get a little salary! Most employees are unhappy but because of their status in the US they can’t quit! I dont recommend this company unless you dont have a degree or if you dont have the paper!

    Advice to Management

I recommend that you hire educated manager abd increase the salary!
