    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Medix Ambulance Services part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Above average wage for our county, Leadership is very defined and no second guessing on who is your supervisor and what you are to do in your job. Small community where everyone knows each other. Love it.

    Cons

It is a small community where everyone knows eachother. Small compared to Portland, Oregon or Longview.Washington.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Medix Ambulance Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Small, family owned and operated company. Close-nit, family-like environment with co-workers--hands down some of the nicest people I have ever worked with.

    Cons

Company could not afford to pay employees adequately, and management didn't seem to care about their employees well being. It was very common to get held-over on your shift, due to lack of proper and reliable staffing. The company had potential to be a great place to work, but it was very stressful and disappointing to work here. This company was ultimately my reason for leaving this profession/field...

I worked at Medix Ambulance Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great experience in a challenging environment. You will get many critical care transfers. MVA's can be serious, you will get the chance to work in adverse weather condition. you may have difficulties working with local volunteer fire departments but that is an opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Toxic corporate environment where profits end up getting in the way of patient centered care. ie. Ambulances with far too many miles (300k+) and not in good working order. Broken , outdated equipment. Indifferent management that you will need to protect yourself against if someone takes a dislike to you.

I have been working at Medix Ambulance Services

    Pros

Medix is a small town service serving the entire county, and part of Washington State.. it has the Pacific ocean on the west side, the cloumbia river in the north, mountaint so the east and south. the call volume is enouth varried and high enough to be intresting.

    Cons

The hours as with any EMS job keeps you from home more often than ideal. 100 miles away from a city larg enough for the arts.
