    Pros

Flexibility, Equipment, Great Doctors, Regulated Scheduling

    Cons

Nepotism, Inconsistent Rules and Regulations, No appreciation for good employees

    Advice to Management

Stop being such a revolving door, and actually put something into the good employees you have. Build a team rather than having a constant threat of being fired.

I worked at Medpace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Hire at entry level
    -Good PTO
    -Free lunches
    -Friendly colleagues/managers

Overall it's a solid opportunity to get your foot in the door in clinical research.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the compensation offered is simply not competitive. Given the expectations of the position, I could not justify staying there at a salary so far below the market rate.

    Advice to Management

Focus on retaining employees. Short term cost savings in the form of lower salaries can lead to higher costs in the long run due to high turnover.

I have been working at Medpace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free lunch. Will hire you with zero experience. High gender equality. Nice and smart co-workers.

    Cons

    Hire people with zero experience.
Lots of responsibility at low pay.
    Minimal growth opportunity.
Not enough parking for all employees.
Just got rid of sick time off.
Non-competition agreements for entry level and hourly employees is unethical and a way to keep wages low.

    Advice to Management

Create growth plans to keep top ranked employees in the company instead of seeking outside positions to grow in their careers.

I worked at Medpace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Young Atmosphere
    - Free Lunch (Salad)
    - Clean Facility
    - Great experience for people straight out of school
    -Great coworkers
    -Casual wear
    - Don't have to work holidays, 3 weeks vacation right off the bat

    Cons

    -Expensive healthcare with poor coverage.
    - No work/life balance.
    - You are highly dispensable
    - Lack of communication
    - No stability on workload
    - Supervisors can be outright bullies/ verbally abusive.
    - Atmosphere is work hard, don't screw up or you'll be fired or at least humiliated in front of your coworkers.

    Advice to Management

Take your personal biases out of picture when dealing employees.
    Communication is key.
Employees shouldn't be expected to work half to death with out any reward outside of raises/bonuses.

I have been working at Medpace full-time

    Pros

The people in the MN office are wonderful, hard-working, and great mentors, but unfortunately are leaving in droves because of upper management.

Other than the knowledgeable coworkers, the pros are a casual dress code, flexible work schedule, and an opportunity to gain experience with many aspects of a CRO.

    Cons

Some bullying from upper-management and the corporate office. There's been verbal abuse and disdain. But if you're not a project manager or in the regulatory dept. (which is now nonexistent) you can get by alright without anyone throwing you under a bus.
There isn't much of a culture anymore, with the high turnover rate. Morale has been low. The future of the office is very uncertain.
Also, the pay. HR insists that the pay is at the cost of labor, but the people who have left are now doing similar work for a lot more money.

    Advice to Management

Try to retain your talented employees. Actually listen to why people are leaving and fix the issues.

I worked at Medpace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very nice gym, but is very overcrowded at times. Free lunch, but then you tend to work through your lunch. Clinical Trials and the good that can come from them is the biggest pro, but that's just the industry and not the company.

    Cons

Promote people based on who they know, not what they know. Those who excel are held back as the only way to keep knowledge in positions. Upper management no longer cares as they all have well communicated and published exit strategies. Pay well below industry standards, people leaving are taking 10%+ increases.

    Advice to Management

Recognize a job done. Promote based on work done and not words spoken. There are a lot of big talkers who can blow a lot of smoke that have been given too much power snd I hate that it will be the failure of a company I used to love.

    Pros

They provide the opportunity to break in to research if you do not have previous experience.

    Cons

Poor communication between staff, lack of consistency between management, poor training and supervision.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more training visits for CRA's and require more training for management to increase consistency.

I worked at Medpace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

New office, generous travel policy, face to face familiarity with staff in most applicable departments, CRA training program is thorough and accessible even for those with no CRO experience.

    Cons

Compensation significantly lower than industry standard even including travel bonus, travel bonus based on several stipulations - have seen several CRAs fired just before travel bonus distribution time for vague reasons, home office for CRAs only an option after 1 year but still must attend in-office meetings on average 2-3 days/month, not uncommon to be on 2-3 studies with 15+ sites as an experienced CRA as there are many trained, inexperienced CRAs hanging around the office that sponsors will not allow to work on their studies. Management circle is small and can be very one-sided. Non-compete agreement is used as a scare tactic.

    Advice to Management

Focus on middle management (CRA managers) as expectations are not consistent for all CRAs. Narrow scope of studies that CRAs are assigned to increase efficiency.

    Cons

Managers are close minded, will only promote people within the circle who will agree with their philosophy.
