I worked at Medullan, Inc. full-time

    Pros

I worked at medullan for a number of years. While I was there I got the opportunity to solve some of the most sticky problems in the digital health space.

    - Opportunity to do truly innovate and impactful work for top notch clients
    - Open, employee centric culture
    - Fast paced, startup culture so you can constantly redefine your role and responsibilites
    - Some of the smartest and friendliest folks in digital health
    - Generous client budgets and timelines

    Cons

-Still struggling to figure out what it's core offering is, which contributes to inconsistent delivery of product and client work.
-Very high turn over. Might not be the best place if you want a stable, predictable role where you practice something you're already good at repeatedly.

    Advice to Management

-Focus on what makes Medullan unique and do it well (valuation will follow)
-Hire top tier leaders to head up departments (and don't let them go)

I worked at Medullan, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Still some great people on project teams.

    Cons

Leadership is aimless and does not know how to hone a value proposition around company offerings, let alone land clients--despite the high concentration of healthcare business and technology in the Boston areas.

Layoffs are frequent due to a pipeline that frequently runs dry, and the best people remaining quit in self-preservation.

Management is unprofessional and uninformed, lacking knowledge of consulting basics. Expect long hours and a hostile work environment.

    Advice to Management

    - Take a hard look at the leadership team and decide what kind of people you need to build core competencies, then act accordingly.
    - Discontinue uncontrolled growth when there is no work to support it.
    - Stop lying to candidates about culture and professional growth.

I have been working at Medullan, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Able to work with reputable clients on health care related digital opportunities (you must like rolling up your sleeves, being innovative and creative with limited resources and not much cushy support);
    Able to play multiple roles from sales, to strategy, to experience design, to development, to management (you must like wearing multiple hates);
Able to work with smart and passionate people at Medullan (you must like collaboration and feedback).

    Cons

    Need to constantly prove our value add in a typical consulting model;
    Need to work with limited resources and support in a typical startup fashion;
Not everyone will like this kine of small startup consulting environment!

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow and invest in our people and clients!

I worked at Medullan, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture is fun and inclusive

Great solutions to concerning health issues impacting millions around the world.

Management - CEO Ahmed Albaiti is an expert in the field. He is very knowledgeable in the health industry.

People and culture. This is one of the most diverse companies I've worked for, All around people are super helpful and work really hard.

    Fast pace environment

    Cons

    Work Life Balance

Still has start up feel which can make decision making longer.

    Advice to Management

There is great talent of people working at Medullan; however you can get buried in work as there is very little work life balance. The company needs to change this so they do not lose key people.

I have been working at Medullan, Inc. (Less than a year)

    Pros

What you should expect from the consulting environment @ Medullan:

    - Opportunities for ideation deeply embedded in lean and design thinking fundamentals.
    - Novel thinking and solutioning around key health issues that affect millions of patients, doctors and caregivers worldwide
    - An interdisciplinary environment that believes in exchange of ideas and constructive team work.
    - A fast pace environment tailored for talent that is capable to think on their feet.

    Cons

    - While pushing the envelope in almost every dimension of healthcare, the long working hours might be more frequent then desired. But this is price to pay when you are doing work that no one else does...stepping into unchartered territory sometimes comes with additional work.

    Advice to Management

    - There is great talent working for this company that would benefit more from a personalized benefits package. The benefits package should be reviewed to support employees in areas they care the most, instead of the one size fits all model.

    Cons

Given its small size, company avoids risk and sticks to bread and butter kind of projects.

I have been working at Medullan, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    none other than free snacks.

    Cons

1: There is absolutely no work culture and ethics at Medullan.
2: They don't know what work life balance means, CEO makes you work more than 15hrs a day, 7 days a week.
3: You can survive at this company if you know how to bully others. Bullying is a mandatory skill for employees who wants to jump up the ladder at this company. Saw so many employees crying because of bulling by colleagues and leadership team. Management team and HR does not seem to care and never took any action towards stoping it even after bunch of employees complain about bullying.
4: They will assign you to what ever roles they have even though they are not meant for your career growth or your skill set does not match with no support.
5: Leadership team is not experienced, does not know how to get the projects with out over selling and making employees work long hours.

    Advice to Management

Company can not survive long enough and can not reach its goal of 100 million if you keep over selling every project and then make employees work unrealistically long hours to cover the erosion. Medullan is a health consulting company, so please care for your employees health by providing them stress free environment. You can reach 100Million goal only if you care your employees along with the revenue and profits.

I worked at Medullan, Inc. full-time

    Pros

The people I worked with directly were some of the best people I have ever worked with. Most are gone now.

Was given the opportunity to implement changes to how we did things and was supported by immediate team. It produced great results for client and team.

Sometimes the company would allow us to buy $15 worth of snacks, but most of the time not.

    Cons

This is the first time I left a company because of how bad they treat their employees. It all starts with the CEO who is really disconnected with his employees and reality. The second source of problems comes from the lack of an HR department. That's right! this company does not have HR. The person who is in charge of "People Success" is the most out of touch person you can meet. He will lie to you during the whole interview process and you will probably never hear from him again once hired. He defines success by making you fill out a "framework" that will determine when your next pay raise should be. They will not look at the actual work you do or who you are as a person, but rather look at a spreadsheet and make decisions based on that.
I've seen employees so overworked that they literally became physically ill.
You will not be doing what you want to do, but rather doing what they sold to the client.
Middle management is non-existent and it seems like the people who do succeed are the ones who bully others.

    Advice to Management

The way employees are treated is border line abuse. Make a statement and get rid of the problems immediately.

    Pros

I honestly can't think of any

    Cons

Claims to care about people, but doesn't show it
Throws people into roles that they weren't hired for or qualified to do with little to now support
Bullying happens at every level of management
Expects people to work long hours with no bonus or incentives to do so
Lack of strong or supportive leadership
Lack of focus or objectives in projects

    Advice to Management

When you put people first, the project work will come without needing to over sell.
