    I worked at Meliá Hotels International

    Pros

    Location, clients, experience opening a hotel. Entry level associates and entry level managers were dedicated to working as team.

    Cons

    Ownership of responsibility was discouraged. Compensation structure was not well organized. Particular property's operation procedures did not meet expectations of brand's culture.

    Advice to Management

    Halt operation and restructure completely....already done (former).

    Great hotel brands with strategic branding initiatives. Exceptional people to work with. Great healthcare benefits. Good career opportunities if willing to relocate internationally

    Cons

    Lack of real-time communications between Corporate Office and Regional or properties due to distance and time difference. Lack of growth opportunities unless willing to relocate internationally

    Pros

    Food on shift, uniform, management, vibe.

    Cons

    unpaid overtime, salary is the same for everyone doesn't matter how many years of experience you have, difficult to grow in the company takes time to get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

    To change the salary scheme as its unfair when your staff get paid the same even though they have several years of experience and you must train new starters that have never work in that position.
