    Cons

Sometime changes are warranted but too much red tape to implement.....Headquarters (Israel doesn't know what US office is doing/not doing. Training leaves a lot to be desired( no procedures documented)

I worked at Mellanox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Management makes decisions quickly, identifying opportunities and whether to pursue them. They try to lead the market through innovation not preserving turf.
The workplace is friendly, there is lots of work to do. Employees are encouraged to stretch, to learn, to advance. No one is locked in.

    Cons

If you want to push for a change in process or approach, you will need to push pretty hard.

    Advice to Management

Engage more frequently with lower-level staff

    Pros

Best company ever. Executives are tough but fair and everyone has high standards. I have experienced very little politics. Had the freedom I needed to build a great team and enjoy the international aspect of the company tremendously. Not for immature or the unfocused, this company is for A-listers.

    Cons

None so far, really enjoying the fast pace and the bleeding edge technology.

I worked at Mellanox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

salary, benefits, peers, snack bar, plants around the office

    Cons

    - If you have any kind of personality whatsoever, this company is not for you
    - you are to do your job and keep your mouth shut because mgmt is ALWAYS right
    - moving at the "speed of light" is not an option here, you would not be able to keep up
    - Working for an Israeli company is a challenge in itself; working with finance is BEYOND miserable!!!!
    - Favoritism, favoritism, favoritism
    - You don't want to disagree with anything upper mgmt says, period
    - they do not respect or appreciate loyal employees who work hard daily as working hard is not enough; they want more
    - they will use you and throw you away when they're done with you

    Advice to Management

Mellanox needs a culture change immediately! Actually, that will never happen.

I worked at Mellanox full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are looking for a company that is known for not upholding any of the following:

    • Family growth support
    • Management opportunities for women or minorities
    • Social activities/charities or environmental causes
    • Sponsorship or mentor programs
    • Competitive salary match

Than this is the place for you! On a positive note they do have snacks in the kitchen and allow dogs to come into work with you. Mellanox also holds a company picnic and holiday party once a year to increase morale.

    Cons

While at Mellanox I interacted with a fantastic group of people. Unfortunately, most didn’t last long or were/are very unhappy. The HR team in the US is inefficient and inexperienced. Mellanox has had a track record of hiring HR directors/managers who have no knowledge or experience in U.S. Law.

Mellanox has proven time and time again that they have no loyalty or appreciation for employees. Let alone people who have been there +5 years! Employees are disposable, and if you aren’t in-line with the top-executives on how they think, then they are more than happy to see you go. However, if you make it into the “boys’ club” you will be rewarded significantly and move up the corporate ladder very quickly.

The yearly employees reviews are just a formality. If upper management likes you, you will get a good bonus and a salary increase. If they don’t well…

Don't be fooled, the charities listed on the website are from donations several years ago and most of the "current" ones are only done in Israel.

The culture is very aggressive in nature. People are so stressed out. There is no work/life balance. As a result most employees lack participation on any company "mandated" event. Turn out is always super low.

    Advice to Management

Employees are not possessions but rather human beings with feelings. When properly nurtured in a work environment, they thrive, and the company or team thrives.

Management is controlling, egotistical, shows a lack of empathy, and a lack of acknowledgement or appreciation. Change this otherwise you will continue to lose great people.

Do not neglect the development of the team. My manager was not a developer of people. To this day this “VP” still needs a course or two on how to converse with people that report to him.

Finally, advice to the HR team who will read this...please take it for what it is worth and NOT retaliate against current or former employees. Stop sending your internal emails begging employees for positive reviews or even worse writing positive reviews yourself.

I have been working at Mellanox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Smart people and interesting technology.

HR in the US works hard to put on fun events for the employees to try to boost morale.

    Cons

Mellanox does not value loyal hardworking employees. They do not make an effort to retain employees and they allow "key" employees to leave without realizing or caring about the repercussions that is has on the organization and culture. Management does not listen to employees. Work life balance is terrible. If you work at Mellanox be prepared to give up any kind of social life you once had! Very stressful place to work. Processes are terrible and most do not make sense! Management is not willing to streamline processes.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to the employees! Realize that if it were not for your employees, you would not be a successful company! Realize the value of your employees before you lose them! I am disappointed with the amount of attrition that this company has. It's not a fun place to work!

    Pros

HR in the USA tries to cheer up employees with regular events and outings.
Company regular promotes unqualified or inexperienced men; if you are a man, go for it.

    Cons

Management decisions kept secret and orders are given to employees to execute without reasonable explanation, Everything is a big secret, information is siloed. Management routinely ignored employees' suggestions or requests. Most of the executives lock themselves in their offices and have no time for the employee. Employees are over-worked and many departments are run like sweat-shops. Add the poorly run work environment with unqualified and unexperienced executives and the place is not a good place to be.

    Advice to Management

Quit promoting employees into positions where they have no knowledge or experience.
Try hiring some women into responsible positions-so far, the Company ignores qualified women.
