You get paid sometimes. Had a situation where I had a time slip and my paycheck had to be manually changed to show the hours I had on it. I almost quit and the only thing that kept me from reporting them to the Labor Board was they wrote me a check and it didnt even make my irs statements. Further more I think I would have qualified for full time employment with just a couple more hours so if you like to work and get paid sometimes and worry about watching your hours this is the place.

Managment is absent from the actual business to the point they are oblivious to its needs. They will give people schedules that have you working 30 hours and it will feel like 50 because of all the shifts you will need to work to get hours. Double shifts are a joke. No room for promotion ever. Seen people quit over this countless times and I was told upon hiring they only promote from within. Another problem is the hiring lies. Saw the problems as writing on the wall and quit. You arent taking advantage of my skills with nothing to offer me in the future. Now I work for a competitor and make 33% more per month doing less.

the flexibility, close-knit coworkers, good bartenders

there is no structure, so handle situations at your own discretion and make sure you're on top of things. management will always have your back but let them know what you need and they'll work with you. kitchen sucks, bartenders are the best. bar works separate from the restaurant.

Mellow Mushroom is a fun, fast-paced work environment that allows its employees to learn how to operate a kitchen smoothly during rush hours and do it with ease. This requires a team of motivated individuals who are all focused on achieving the same goal through teamwork and communication.

I feel Mellow Mushroom from a new-hire standpoint should put more emphasis on training its employees correctly and teaching certain important skills such as patience and how to stay calm during stressful situations. Many new employees find themselves getting overwhelmed by the crowd which causes new issues to arise.
