I worked at Melrose full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked for melrose more than 7 years , I was given the opportunity to move to management position in a year and to manage a high volume store. Got to meet fantastic sales people!

    Cons

Company does not have new and fresh ideas! They expect you to work like a robot and even if you do they are never happy with performance! Regional manager is racist and gets upset if you speak Spanish around him, however, people from home office including himself will speak Spanglish all the time. Confusing tasks and very low pay for sales associates . This is a good place as a temporary job but definetly not worth to create a career!

    Advice to Management

Management and associates deserve to have better training and to be appreciated! Kudos to help desk for always being nice and helpful.

I worked at Melrose part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If we had a rise ! If on holidays the store will close early because we have family's too!!!

    Cons

The downside towards melrose as I've seen a lot of people comment on it is our raise !!! $8.25 is nothing in Las Vegas !! People have kids ! People have bills to pay! We NEED a raise we do so much for melrose here in Vegas there's so much stealing and sometimes we risk our life's to get the clothes back we also stress on making the store looking A one for the head of the department people that come from Texas ! ! To see our store .! I think if we were at least to get paid $10.00 it would be enough or at least $9.50 but $8.25 REALLY!!!!??

    Advice to Management

    Really wouldn't recommend

    Pros

Met great people, customers, and workers.

    Cons

They treat you like a slave. LOW pay, corporate thinks they are better than you. All around negative place to work from company values to the demeaning head hanchos

I worked at Melrose full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nope, can't think of any.

    Cons

If you ever think about working for Melrose to step up in the business, I'd advise against it. Working at the home office was a joke. Management is too old to be working anymore. They don't listen to new ideas and think that using the same techniques over and over again is going to produce different results. It's a shame. Buyers are so burnt out that they just buy the same, old, out-of-style garments that should never be purchased because management only wants to hike up the price in hopes of a high margin. Clothes fall apart so easily that they aren't even worth the $2 they paid for it. Employees that have been there for awhile are only still there because they don't ask for raises and are content with settling. If you are someone who hopes to bring your modern vision and innovative ideas to the company, stay away. Don't even waste your time.

    Advice to Management

Quit and hire competent people who are willing to take risks to improve business.

I have been working at Melrose part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They work with your school schedule
    Not very hasty about tardiness

    Cons

    Pay sucks
    Not enough hours
    Strict on schedule once made

    Advice to Management

Management should try to help out more and actually work not just watch other employees work.

I worked at Melrose full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great Co-workers to work with.

    Cons

The company has a high turn out rate. The sales associates never receive raises, benefits, or holiday pay. The company lacks diversity the videos that are sent to the stores for employees to view that the company is trying to appeal to the "The Hispanic Family" when their customers are very versatile.. Equipment and technology is dated. Corporate often threatens employees that to not use them as reference. They believe that majority of their employees steal from them. When the police wanted to see a copy of a customer shopping he thought it was strange all the cameras were pointed at the employees instead of the sales floor.
