What’s the best way to have a lack of compensation and incentive conversation in your department? I went above and beyond for years doing extra work, organizations etc and nothing has been reflected in pay. I thought my 5 year was going to finally show something but it did not. I’ve inquired about pay but it’s gotten nowhere.

Solid company, but beware of some branch managers

    Mar 23, 2014 - Teller I in Harrisburg, PA

    Pros

Pay is very good and calibrated often according to industry standards. Company is continually growing and adding jobs/positions.

    Cons

Branch management could sometimes be tough to work with because of their attitude. Company did not seem to put that much value on education.

    Hoping for big change soon

    Pros

Great Associates - The majority are hardworking. New CEO appointed with the potential to turn it around. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Major cultural issues that create roadblocks on business decisions. People are overworked - Employees are demoralized. Departmental silos exist.

    A good fit for some

Sep 28, 2022 - Assistant Branch Manager II in Harrisburg, PA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good benefits, somewhat set schedule, closed on Sundays, all major and minor holidays paid, PTO accrual is above average. Pay scale depending on job role is competitive.

    Cons

Sales are heavily focused on. Not all branches or departments are equal although the job description and pay does not change based on this. You are expected to take on more duties when other branches or departments are short staffed but are not compensated for taking on these duties. You are pulled in many directions and priorities are not always clearly communicated. Growth or movement can be discouraged due to staffing within current branch/department and not based on performance and career objectives of the associate.

    Pros

Great hours, federal holidays off. If you work later or Saturdays compensated pay. Competitive pay compared to other financial institutions. Also, incentives for cross-selling. Room for career advancement.

    Cons

Although I said the hours are great, they are not the typical "9 to 5", you still will have early days and late Thursdays and Fridays.

The vision and/or focus has changed at Members 1st FCU.

    Jul 22, 2013 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Good Pay; Lots of career opportunities--if you play their game.

    Cons

Focus is not on "members", but is entirely on sales/numbers. Associates are told to get the sale any way they can. Upper management is well aware of the dishonest/unethical ways this is being done.
