I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

They offer a lot of fringe benefits.

      Cons

I don’t even know where to begin. MHS stands by their values and the pillars of excellence yet I’ve never worked in a place where employees were so disrespectful to one another. I believe this only applies to the patients. Also, the pay grade is extremely low and they do not allow OT in certain departments because the department doesn’t bring in revenue. All departments are an important aspect to the success of the hospital,...

      Advice to Management

Review your pay grade scale and OT rules. Take a deeper look at individual departments. It’s not always what it seems. Make no assumptions.

I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      Close proximity to my home.

      Cons

Unbelievably unreasonable demands on their staff. They will work you to near madness while telling you to smile and love it - because we the converted have lost all sense of self preservation. Complete Dystopia. Turnover of staff is a problem and will continue to increase due to overwork causing dangerous conditions. Don't believe the hype. There is an erroneous local reputation of this place being a highly desirable...

      Advice to Management

Realize that people have lives outside of your LaLa Land company. They don't want to come to picnics or participate in extracurricular activities after you have worked them to the ground. Its a job not the priesthood. Decompress your units, use some of your other resources including moving patients to other hospitals when you are overcapacity. Its not safe, its not employee sustainable and the hype is seen for what...

I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

The pay is very good compared to my previous employer.

      Cons

For the most part, management doesn't care about their employees. Every employee DOESN'T have a voice, only certain ones. The employees should be care for and about just as much as the patients.

      Pros

Was the vacation and benefits they are slowly chipping away at them. Their insurance can only be used at MHS. They use the employees as a line of business. The insurance isn’t cheap either.

      Cons

The new CEO and the top levels have forgotten that the previous CEO valued its employees because of their hard work they are where they are today. Now they are only interested in get Millennial’s. They treat us as if we were a value to the company.

      Pros

Staff is good with the exception of management

      Cons

They claim they're the "best". This is the worst hospital I've worked in. They definitely don't have an efficient system in place for managing anything including their staff schedule and budget. Very greedy, they don't care about you as an employee at all. They only look at numbers. They send the employees home early every shift or tell them not to come in at all. The full time employees do not make their full hours...

      Cons

They are slowly taking and changing the benefits, and not for the better. A lot of nepotism

      Advice to Management

Do better for the non clinical staff, our salaries do not keep up with the rate of inflation. You are losing a lot of good people who don’t really want to leave but have no choice, they have to pay their bills
