I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fair benefits, 10 minutes away from home, nice people to work with, all about customer service if you want your blankets and socks instead of saving your life

    Cons

Only 3 call outs per year. Administration is only concerned about numbers and let their employees drown because of “budget” Then nurses get additional responsibilities thrown at them when every department is already short staffed. Lowest paying facility in South Florida

    Advice to Management

Work as nurse one ENTIRE shift in the ER’s, L&D, any unit then let us know about your ridiculous demands

    Pros

It is a positive working environment with benefits for part-time workers which include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 403b.

Although the system offers mentorship for those in a managerial role, there are limited programs to foster growth for aspiring leaders.

I worked at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time

    Pros

Great place to get exposure to many different types of patients that you would not see in other parts of the country.

    Cons

The parking was kind of irritating, but other than that It is a great hospital. I do wish it had been easier to transfer to a different department, that is why I left.

    Advice to Management

I wish it had been easier to transfer to a different department, that is why I left. I was unhappy working on the floor that I was originally assigned and my interests were in another area but transferring was to difficult.

I have been working at Memorial Healthcare System - South Florida full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health insurance are great and the premiums are average. Paid leave time is great you accumulate a lot quickly and don’t lose it.

    Cons

Bullying is a huge problem and it isn’t addressed. Haven’t experienced this since Junior high. The medication you can have are limited and a lot are not covered. The medical plan is only limited to South Broward if you live north or south it won’t work for you. Paid time is hard to request and take.

    Advice to Management

Remove some layers too many levels. Maybe start hiring from the outside of Memorial to help elevate the company. You keep choosing people and trying to develop and your are making the wrong choices.
