    Pros

    I've been in healthcare in many capacities over the past 13 years. During this time I've worked for and with many hospitals. I've never felt more supported or empowered than I do with MemorialCare. They truly value employees and leadership encourages innovation.

    Cons

    The pay is on the lower end of national averages for IT, but the benefits are good and culture is warm.

    I worked at MemorialCare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    They wanted you to grow with the company. They did a lot of events and reward their staff for a job well done, which made us feel like what we were doing was being noticed.

    Cons

    At the facility I worked at, they were very understaffed. I would work 6 days a week (which i didn't mind). But, their turnover rate for FOA's was really high.

    Pros

    people; advancement/opportunities (if your in the right group); gym

    Cons

    IS analysts are non-exempt unless you are a specialist senior or architect;
    flex days (furloughs): if you dont have any, you dont get paid and they tell you when to take it:
    politics;
    noticable favoritism;
    outsourced MOB and informs IT analyst it saves Money. How? when you are a hiring consultants.
    logging time to the second;
    too many significant changes all at onces without allowing time for employees to adjust

    Pros

    Have the opportunity to help many patients in southern California and there are many very dedicated employees who are loyal and well-intentioned. Might get better if absorbed by a larger, more sophisticated

    Cons

    Executive leadership is stuck int he past and has difficulty trusting those not in the inner circle. Opportunity for promotion is dependent on perceptions of a few key leaders rather than trust placed in many leaders. Some executives are amazing but are marginalized by other executives. The company is stagnant from a growth perspective.

    Advice to Management

    Start: Find innovative people within the organization, those that stand out as different from what you are comfortable with and give them the opportunity to shake it up.
    Stop: The inner circle of a few key executives, it is more visible than you think and counterproductive.
    Continue: To have confidence in the amazing people in the organization and empower them to do more.

    Pros

    This is a regional boutique healthcare system. They do not live by their iABC values. Low compassion, no integrity. Always focuses on the monies to keep Corporate living in luxury.

    Cons

    The highest levels of senior leadership at the corporate levels are disingenuous and hypocritical. Check out their luxurious corporate headquarters vs how the campuses, especially the campuses that have poor people look, feel, are. Layoffs at the expense of bonuses for system CEO, COO, CFO, etc. are appalling. Go check out the Fountain Valley parking lot...full of luxury cars while the actual hospitals experience cut after cut after cut. Do not work at MC until the highest levels of senior leadership at Corporate in Fountain Valley are held accountable by the board and are gone.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of Corporate senior leadership.

    Always doing nice things for staff like gifts and lunches , good resources , good ancillary teams, good doctors

    Cons

    Low pay, older facility , always packed full of patients and never enough beds causing forced overtime , understaffed
