    Pros

Very good work atmosphere and work life balance. All attorneys and partners are friendly and approachable. Young attorneys are given opportunities to meet with clients at early stage.

    Cons

Sometimes the work can be a little boring and redundant. Caseload is based on volume which can be stressful to manage at times.

    Pros

If you get into the right practice group, the people (bosses and same-level colleagues) are great. Good work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Seems like you are trying to get into the 21st century, but aren't there yet.

    I worked at Mendes & Mount full-time

    Pros

Great people and engaging material. A great place to work if you are ok with administrative work.

    Cons

Much more administrative work than the job description implied. I have developed solid soft skills, however I haven't had much exposure that would prepare me for law school.

    Advice to Management

Be very honest in your job description! More company outings would be nice.

I worked at Mendes & Mount full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Nice place to work, nice people

    Cons

Salary low; Don't get stuck in the wrong department

    Advice to Management

Give associates exposure to different partners and people at the firm
Promote/give more regular raises to show appreciation.
Have associates review partners and associates review other associates they work with as well as partners review associates - would be helpful to hear how both are performing and would create a better work flow.

    I worked at Mendes & Mount full-time

    Pros

Excellent clients, quality work, immediate and scaling responsibility, sharp and seasoned partners, loved my coworkers! Small firm environment, larger firm resources.

    Cons

No structured training, but senior associates and partners are always accessible. No in house CLEs. Numerous floors make socializing more difficult.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer to, or at, market rates and you will attract more talent. This is a great firm with quality clients with interesting work, and could attract the best young attorneys, but you have to pay for them.
