Pros
We have very talented colleagues across all of our practices. Our culture is work hard play hard, but also very understanding that we all have a life outside of work.
Cons
US based employees can end up with early morning meetings depending on the client and need. I’m not bothered by putting in time early, but this probably isn’t a great fit for someone who anyone who doesn’t like working before 8 am.

Pros
Enjoyed my coworkers and environment
Cons
Not much room for growth in my specific area

Pros
There's a lot of super interesting work. Plenty of opportunities to express curiosity and shape your role into what you want it to be. Depending on your values this can be enough to counterbalance the cons below.
Cons
Some individuals and practices are very sophisticated in the work they do while others are not. It is like chess vs checkers and it negatively impacts the ability to deliver on complex projects. It's a bummer to be proud of your work and slowly watch it fall apart as other departments manage it poorly. Poor project management and scope management capabilities.

I have been in client solutions for over 3 years. MentorMate is a forward thinking company, a trendsetter in mobile and web since 2001. The creator of www.mobcon.com. A competitive marketplace demands employees go the extra mile to satisfy clients. The consultants, Pm's, designers, developers and operations are top notch. The leadership guided MentorMate through choppy economic times of late 2013 when other companies closed their doors, MM thrived. MM management then negotiated the August 2014 sale to Taylor Companies, a long term benefit to all employees and clients. There are monthly employee events available for participation i.e. last weeks barbeque at the lake. Mobcon Digital Health Panel 2 weeks ago with 20 well known Health Companies in attendance at MentorMate. The Uptown Art Fair open house is scheduled for August. Mobcon is scheduled again for November. I had a client CEO tell me last week that they are extremely satisfied with MentorMate. MentorMate is right on track with balance business goals and client satisfaction.
Cons
Didn't find MentorMate sooner. For the record, I am not upper management. Also, upper management is not related whatsoever, as mentioned in another post.

Pros
Very talented co-workers willing to help you grow and learn. Some of the projects that get worked on are a lot of fun and challenging. They are always looking to improve and to be technology agnostic - whatever tools you need to do your job well, you can use. The office space in Uptown is outstanding; definitely one of the best perks. Great for an entry-level or slightly higher job.
Cons
Management is not visible. There is little to no interaction from leadership with the rest of the company. Everything feels shrouded in mystery. High turnover of employees; they completely clean out their sales team every 6-8 months and seem to live in fear of failing. Salaries are well below market value except if you're in an upper management role. The value of your work will be questioned regularly and there is an underlying feeling of needing to prove yourself and your worth everyday.

Great culture is #1 at MentorMate. Open communication with all employees about how the company is doing via monthly update meetings. Leadership Team both in the USA and Bulgaria are long-standing and outstanding. Great colleagues and clients to work with. Fast growth, fast-paced, high energy, great offices, and great office locations both in Uptown and throughout Bulgaria and Sweden. What's not to like about MentorMate
Cons
Having to continue to hit their aggressive growth targets. Leadership sometimes too hard on themselves and therefore their employees to meet revenue and profit goals.

Pros
Nice location. Allows employees the autonomy to make a difference. Fast growth provides opportunities for those able to take advantage of them. Solid, high integrity, executive management. Very dynamic work across lots of clients and industries.
Cons
Not really a con, but this is a fast-growth environment that might not be for everybody. If you are able to keep up and contribute the opportunities for making a positive impact for the company, and for clients are numerous.

Pros
- The people at MentorMate are very kind, caring, smart, and independent. There is virtually no office drama, which is incredible. - There is a lot of interest in trying out new ideas, and giving leadership opportunities to those who take ownership, make a case, and do the work to make it happen. - Management is approachable and cares about the success of their employees. - Everyone is committed to making a good client client experience. - Very few of the salespeople are paid on commission, which ensures the sales team really wants what's best for the client. - There's very little busywork, or tasks that you have to do "just because." - Developers and engineers are allowed to express their opinions and communicate directly with clients in a structured fashion. - Snacks, drinks, and staff meals.
Cons
The senior leadership doesn't communicate much in the way of long-term plans or goals. There is no mission statement saying, "We want to be known as the best company for X, Y, and Z." The extent of planning and vision is, "Let's try to make $X revenue in the next 3 months." If the company is not on-track to hit revenue goals for a given month then all spending is restricted, even on small items like one-off $20 software licenses. This creates a background feeling of always being on the brink of panic. MentorMate's value proposition is not well-articulated. Defining what the company is working toward (other than general growth) would make it easier to say what differentiates MentorMate from its competition. It would be very valuable from a marketing, sales, and emotional standpoint. As it stands, the brand statement is basically "we're smart and cost-effective," which is the same unremarkable brand statement that every generic development company uses. MentorMate's HQ has a small-company feel. It's an excellent place for mid- and senior-level employees. However, its lack of identity hinders the company's growth, and makes a job at MentorMate feel like a stepping stone rather than a career destination.
