I worked at Meralco as an intern

    Pros

Meralco has a lot to offer for people in the IT industry. Since it's such a huge company, they have a lot of IT departments and I actually had a hard time finding out where to be placed. My internship there was an added learning experience aside from my college classes. It gave me a glimpse as to what the IT industry I want to enter holds.

    Cons

Sometimes I felt like I wasn't given enough roles to perform/showcase what I can do but it's understandable since I was only an intern there.

    Advice to Management

Have a clearer and more solid plan for all interns so that you can maximize the work hours you get from them.

I worked at Meralco as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people there are very friendly and helpful. They are always ready to teach you something if you want to learn. The work environment is very pleasing.

    Cons

I was not given a permanent placement because I wasn't a citizen of the Philippines. My development wasn't to great because they kept a lot of things in secret because of the sensitivity of the departments I worked in

    Advice to Management

They should keep up the good spirit that the employees have. Keep remaining supportive of the staff.

    Pros

Good company; very large organization with different initiatives; international initiatives; very friendly individuals and managers; keen to stay up to date with latest trends in technology

    Cons

Too many projects asked to evaluate despite some projects showing no potential at an early stage; at times decisions take a long time and no clarity on whether certain decisions are final

    Advice to Management

More coordination and better system to evaluate projects at early stage; minimize ad hoc last minute meetings for projects more selective in approaching partnership opportunities
