I have been working at Meralco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great mentors
    - Leadership opportunities (even for some younger employees)
    - Engaging work
    - Growing industry
    - Learning opportunities (technical, managerial, even self-help)
    - Great benefits
    - Wide campus (with office buildings, banks, wellness center, gyms, etc inside)

    Cons

Given that this is a huge company (of over 5,000 employees), bureaucracy can get in the way at times. Regardless, management is doing its best to decentralize control and enable employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! The industry is changing at a rapid pace, and I admire your flexibility to adapt.

    Pros

Corporate values like teamwork and malasakit never dies. MERALCO Employees are dedicated and hard-working people, willing to do more beyond their duties and responsibilities.

    Cons

Office politics could be your greatest enemy. Life-Work balance may be at risk when assigned at Operations

    Advice to Management

Please take initiative to know the main reasons why most of the best engineers and technicians in Operations have decided to leave. Definitely, something needs to be done.

    Pros

Good company; very large organization with different initiatives; international initiatives; very friendly individuals and managers; keen to stay up to date with latest trends in technology

    Cons

Too many projects asked to evaluate despite some projects showing no potential at an early stage; at times decisions take a long time and no clarity on whether certain decisions are final

    Advice to Management

More coordination and better system to evaluate projects at early stage; minimize ad hoc last minute meetings for projects more selective in approaching partnership opportunities

I have been working at Meralco full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Office is near home,no graveyard shifts, salary and benefit very good!

    Cons

Most of the employees are too afraid to go out of their comfort zones, they were too pampered.

    Advice to Management

If you really wanted to stay on top, invest more on your people's training. As in hard core training and please review the current job descriptions, its really out dated. You have a lot of executives/managers/officers who are now very disengaged, they do not inspire us to be better, act on that soon or they might pass the disease like a virus.
