I have been working at Mercer CPSG Partners full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    People are great!
    Culture amazing.
Vast amount of training available and encouraged.
Always learning and being challenged in a good way.
    Making excellent Connections!!!!!
    People staying connected.

    Cons

I think an issue maybe if you have a problem and you Don't voice it to your manager and give them a chance to fix or create a better avenue, then your not acting responsible for your own future. My manager has always been fully engaged and on my side, heck the CEO, Rohit will even get involved, because he cares about everyone here. I was surprised, but he is very involved, and approachable.

    Advice to Management

keep up the communications between management and employees. and keep up with market compensation!

I have been working at Mercer CPSG Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started here right out of college and I'm so glad I decided to come here. I didn't know anything about Dallas, but it's actually been fun getting to know the city. And the company is awesome! This is such a supportive, friendly environment with lots of super smart people. Everyone seems to care about one another and the work is interesting. I have learned so much, and many of the people here who started as consultants have been promoted, so I think there will be good, long-term opportunities for me. There really are a LOT of pros - from the people, to the culture, to the lunches three times a week, to the benefits - it's been an amazing experience so far.

    Cons

Sometimes I am very busy and other times I don't have enough work, so it would be nice if that were to even out more, but I think it's just the nature of consulting. I don't mind the long hours during critical project milestones, but I know others complain about the times they have to work long hours. Consulting is not for the lazy, that's for sure!

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture the same and keep supporting your employees! Don't stray off into lines of business that distract from your core success.

    Pros

Great work flexibility and lots of young people around the office. Coming out of college you'll enjoy your coworkers.

    Cons

Compensation structure is poor, as is the bonus plan. The RMO never does a great job of staffing, and it seems certain functional areas are understaffed almost year-round. Extremely high turnover of talent due to being paid below market value. On a current down-trend.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees more rather than just looking at hours billed to a client.

    Pros

Great for work-life balance, autonomy-flexibility in work schedule and benefits. Early client facing experience if desired.

    Cons

Bad for hard workers who expect a premium for extra effort. Turnover of top tier talent.

    Advice to Management

Re-organize compensation incentives to retain talent.

I worked at Mercer CPSG Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers - energetic young people and managers that care about working with and mentoring young people

    Cons

LOTS of lip service to "open door policy" with C-Suite and teamwork, but very passive aggressive upper management style that belittles and singles out employees. Ridiculous hourly reports published each week to promote weird competition. Additionally, there's a lot of talk about great onboarding and training, but project managers are often young and don't have mentorship in place, to the point that quality of projects can be quite low. Acquisition by Mercer was helpful in terms of benefits and education, but the Mercer "perks" haven't kicked in yet.

    Advice to Management

It would really help to have more PM mentorship in place, and to let Mercer actually run this business.

    Pros

Leading Projects early in career is a huge plus. Every employee is beyond supportive of your growth and encourages you to challenge yourself daily. There is not a significant amount of travel, but it's been just enough for me that I've gotten to check out a few cool cities around the country. This job is the perfect for developing a combination of technical and personal skills early in your career. There are a TON of resume builders that you get very early on.

    Cons

Everyone that works here knows the pay is below average. The bonus structure is even worse. For me to make what I made last year, I'd have to work significantly more. Why?

    Advice to Management

People will continue to leave the company if you do not change the compensation.
