    Pros

Great tools provided, Money is up to standard and the choice to travel the world

    Cons

Too many hero’s within the company. You’re only are and ever are a number for them. Don’t expect to move up the ladder with mercury unless you’re relative to one the directors or contacts managers

    Advice to Management

Look after 1st years teach them how to wire instead of bending kilometres of conduit a day..GO’s can do that

I have been working at Mercury Engineering full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Plenty of hours so you can make good money as an apprentice.

    Cons

Seems like Mercury uses apprentices as cheap labour on jobs as there are many instances where you are not doing any trade specific training. And then being told after a job is finished you will be made redundant with a fair amount of your apprenticeship to complete. No good if you want to complete an apprenticeship with one company. A bit of a disappointment when Mercury consistently promised the world and then the... job comes to an end and you are left to find a new employer to take you on.

    Advice to Management

Please be more transparent with your apprentices from the beginning, if there is no chance of finishing your time on a job don’t say “you can finish your time on another job” when that clearly wasn’t the case. Better communication form HR to management is key as we were strung along for months not knowing what was coming to us.
