I worked at Mercury Marine full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Place to work. Definitely gives you an opportunity to move up the ladder.

    Cons

They are not located in the West Coast, where I currently live.

    Advice to Management

Continue to trust those that are worthy to be trusted. Thanks for not taking age into consideration. Skill, motivation to try to learn new things, and drive are most important!

I have been working at Mercury Marine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Exciting recreational product development. Team environment. Cross functional employment opportunities. Pretty good too down communication. Very good employee discounts on Brunswick Corporation products.

    Cons

Sometimes product development cycle is too fast therefore it seems like products are developed too rapidly in which case quality is sacrificed.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in professional employee training and continuing education.

I have been working at Mercury Marine full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Money, experience, opportunities for advancement

    Cons

Location isn’t ideal for someone younger or straight out of college. While there is a wealth of opportunities to grow in your career at mercury, most young people would not be interested in calling fond du lac a long term home. Not a great place to make friends / social scene. For someone with a family at a later life stage it makes lots of sense. Great benefits and work life balance for someone with a family

    Advice to Management

More opportunities for employees to experience the product. Cultivate collaboration between all of product development

I have been working at Mercury Marine full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The wages are good benefits

    Cons

Wished I lived closer but that is my choice

    Advice to Management

Not all management but some need to listen to employees more often because some of them have good ideas at times not so much my experience but mainly from what I hear from other people managers I deal with I usually get positive responses from might be a good idea to occasionally have meetings with employees on the floor and encourage them to give good ideas and encourage them to keep thinking up good ideas myself I am on the floor also positive feedback goes a long ways to people even if their idea is not good say it in a positive way to not discourage them from voicing their opinion the next time about something because nobody ever always has the right ideas

I have been working at Mercury Marine full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance, good benefits, decent salary, there's some fun events throughout the year, options to buy brunswick products at a good discount.

    Cons

Seems like training and travel get cut from budgets quickly, not enough resources to complete the work we have in queue. No formal career path.
