    Pros

Small company, lots of room for growth and plenty of access to Sr. management. Renewed focus on integrated media accounts with investments in analytics and technology leading the way.

    Cons

Continuing to develop capabilities and work flows which come with growing pains.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent with employees about changes.

I have been working at Mercury Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

At first glance it appears that the company is on a growth path. New York City is a great place to work

    Cons

    High turnover rate
When I was first hired, I thought it would be a great place to work but that changed quickly. The tension in the office is extremely high and people wonder who will be next to quit or get fired.
Instead of moving people up, they hire people over you whom are less qualified in what seems to be an attempt to phase you out.

    Advice to Management

    none

I worked at Mercury Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

good benefits compare to other companies and friendly co-workers. my supervisor is really nice and patient. free food once a week in the kitchen.

    Cons

low salary compare to other companies. not creative job. no future in this company. most of time doing boring jobs. co-workers do not have passion to their jobs

    Advice to Management

The rules are very straightforward and the management system is very organized, I don't think I have much advices that will help them improve.

I have been working at Mercury Media (Less than a year)

    Pros

New leadership is helping move the company out of the stagnant industry to the new model of performance marketing. New smart people come in the door every day and it's refreshing to be around.
Great 401K match (up to 8%) and nice coverage tiered health insurance.

    Cons

It is a very different experience depending on which office and industry you are working in. I would guess most negative reviews are from the Santa Monica office, which is in a tough space in a tougher industry.
Expense-reimbursement is very tightly controlled and a little silly for the nature of a client service industry.

    Advice to Management

Revisit Paternity leave policy. The industry is becoming more accommodating of new fathers and it's very attractive to top talent!

I worked at Mercury Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Talented and hardworking peers
Great benefits package with medical/dental/vision/ 401k match/open kitchen with snacks
Fun Committee was great at planning events and recognizing everyone's birthday
Got the chance to work with smart and most talented colleagues
Open space environment - great for communication with other departmentments
    Generous PTO/Holidays

    Cons

The promotion rate here is painstakingly slow. Assistants are underpaid and overworked to assist Buyers and AE's who bring home triple the pay. The office is always understaffed so everyone has to pick up extra work to help the team move forward.

The mercury mindset is very traditional and old school and not a place to foster creative young millennials. Mercury needs to transform into a present day modern agency that offers more than just Long Form DR. I am surprised they have not expanded into short form yet in this time and age. Especially since they are located in West LA, only a couple miles from some of the largest advertising giants popping up on silicon beach. These are the reasons why you're not retaining young talent.

I worked at Mercury Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Santa Monica location and nice offices, monthly office meeting with all staff levels and departments kept everyone informed and included, Halloween was awesome at the office, good medical benefits, quarterly bonuses, and quality people to work with.

    Cons

At the time I worked there, there was no 401k match, but that might have since changed. Also, my position was being eliminated shortly after I was hired in the newly created accounting role so that was unfortunate. Also, the CFO was located 3000 miles away from the rest of the corporate accounting group at the time I was there, but I believe that has since changed with the corporate group leaving the west coast.

I worked at Mercury Media full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not a bad place to get started- get introduced to the media world and learn some basics about direct response. Location is the best think about this job, minutes from the beach.

    Cons

Almost zero room for growth, and even of you do get promoted, the pay is TERRIBLE. Major focus on long form tv buying- which is a dying industry. Pointless to learn a trade that will be completely irrelevant in a couple of years. This company completely missed the boat on evolving and staying relevant, very poor long term strategy. They have been doing bad financially for years- very few employee perks. Upper management turn over is as high as the entry level positions.

    Advice to Management

Not sure any advice will help

    Pros

The location made it easy to walk to the beach. You can learn a lot here and then move on.

    Cons

Revolving door of employees. No Raises, low pay, really hard to move up. Feels too corporate.
