I love working for this company!
Jul 23, 2020 - Global Ordering Specialist in Andover, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mercury Systems takes great care of their employees, we are working from home during the pandemic, they have offered us everything we need to be able to work from home efficiently, laptops, monitors, chairs etc. They take your opinions into consideration before making decisions and always keep you in the loop on what the company is doing. I couldn't be happier here. This is one company that takes their culture seriously and delivers everyday in every aspect!
Cons
I would have said working from home in the past, but that is not the case now. In fact when we do return to going back to the office, working from home will be an option.

Cultures and Values Shining Brightly in the Face of COVID-19
Apr 8, 2020 - Senior Director in Cypress, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
High-growth business with a solid and sustainable growth strategy. Leader in high-tech electronics developing innovative solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. Built on a solid foundation of cultures and values, which have truly been tested and delivered against during the COVID-19 crisis. Personally, I have NEVER worked for a company that placed so much emphasis, priority, resources and funding, towards employee safety and well-being, which includes extended family. I am proud to be part of the Mercury Systems family. I have also found the culture to be very supportive and flexible around working conditions (e.g. working remotely; flex hours; etc.)
Cons
Not really a con, but Mercury is not for the faint of heart, very dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring agile, accountable and adaptable employees.

Pros
Mercury Systems has great work culture and we are very serious about it. We openly and effectively drive teamwork, execution and commitment. I'm unaware of any employee at my level that doesn't share those values. I feel comfortable calling other sites to talk to subject matter specialist, many of whom I've never met in person and in return offering my help and direction when asked. Upper management is extremely approachable and engaged. I know that they recognize how important our defense products are to the people who go in harms way. The work environment is often challenging technically and in pace, but the rewards are real. We are serious about providing a clean, current, supportive work space and the appropriate tools are always provided. Additionally Mercury keeps giving me stuff...training as needed, bonuses, barbecues, lunches, easy ways to reward co-workers for ideas or help to me personally or the organization in general. Finally I recognize that Mercury is absolutely fearless about change. If management thinks there is a better way to do something institutionally it will be discussed, torn apart, tested and if it still has life someone will pull the trigger.
Cons
Regardless of what I said about change at the executive level there is certainly institutional "inertia" to deal with at the operational levels. Its understandable but often disconcerting. There are too many meetings for my taste and the meetings we need sometimes head off into tangents.

We are so glad that you are comfortable initiating cross-functional collaboration. This is something we value and encourage. Just as we work to drive innovation, we are always working to improve at all levels. We take your feedback seriously and will certainly consider as we develop. Thanks again it is great to hear your positive feedback.

Energetic Place to Work
Jan 26, 2019 - Head of Total Rewards in Andover, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been fortunate to work for some very good companies in the past in multiple industries. However, I have not ever worked for a company that is as energetic as Mercury Systems. What makes it so energetic is that there is so much optimism about growth here starting from the top and permeating throughout the entire organization. A standing item in each discussion with senior leaders is not about how we are rewarding our employees today (from both a compensation and benefits perspective) but how are we going to reward them when we have doubled in size and even tripled. It is a lot of fun working in this type of environment where successful growth is so ingrained in the culture of the Company.
Cons
Working for a company in a high growth mode can be demanding at times, however, support from leadership, a high emphasis on personal development and the importance placed on culture and values truly does make Mercury Systems a Great Place to Work.

Best Place to Work
Apr 16, 2020 - Anonymous Employee in Andover, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I joined Mercury 3 years ago. This company has a strong culture built on Trust and driven by the leaders. The people and the culture along with our innovative products make Mercury one of the best places to work. You have the ability to grow and develop your career at Mercury.
Cons
I wouldn't consider this a Con but I realize others do: this company is incredible fast paced and the expectations are high so if that isn't the environment you like than it could be a challenging place to work. Scaling also presents some challenges although nothing that can't be worked out.

A Company that really cares about its employees
Apr 16, 2020 - Senior Human Resources Business Partner Manager in Hudson, NHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I joined Mercury about a year ago and I more impressed every day with the company and its leadership. Mercury is very clear about its culture and values which are posted everywhere in Mercury’s facilities. Many company’s post their cultures and values and that’s where it ends. Mercury actually lives its culture and values and holds everyone, including management, accountable for them. Management communicates frequently and honestly to all employees and genuinely wants to hear from employees. One of the really great things about Mercury is the opportunity for employees to grow, develop, continually learn and to work with smart and caring co-workers. During the COVID-19 crisis, Mercury has really stepped up to be there for its employees – moving employees to work from home immediately at the on-set of COVID, keeping employees still at work safe, providing 3 weeks of COVID-sick time for employees, establishing a $1 million relief fund to support those employees in most need, and many other things that are too numerous to mention. I am so proud to work for a company that lives its values. I am so proud to work for Mercury
Cons
There are really no cons - Mercury is growing fast and very fast-paced. It's the right place for someone who likes that type of environment.

Great organization! Happy employee!
Nov 8, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mercury is the best company I've ever worked for both in terms of culture and innovation. It feels so good to come to work every day and feel fulfilled by the opportunities to employ my expertise but also the business and what we do as a company. Management from the C-suite down really cares (most of them anyway) and wants what's best for the employees. It's like a family here but a family of overachievers. At Mercury, they push us hard to get results and many times you'll end up putting in well over your 40 hours each week, but it's balanced out by generous PTO and flexible work hours. This company is driving hard toward growth and success, it's just a question of whether you're in or out. I've worked at a lot of places and all the others either expect 100% from you and give nothing but disrespect in return or are so beaurocratic and afraid of stepping on others feelings, that nothing gets done. Mercury is the perfect balance of hard charging and human. I personally love this organization and I hope I have a LONG career here.
Cons
- HR, especially at the leadership level: There are a few individual contributors who are great, but for the most part it's a waste of time to talk to anyone on the team and expect anything positive to come from it. They are dismissive and don't listen to a word anyone says - whether it's feedback or a request for assistance with something - they turn it around on you. They think they have all the answers. They refuse to acknowledge their issues or that they even have any and it's really frustrating to see senior management let them get away with it and in fact protect/insulate them from any accountability. They are supposed to drive our culture and values through the organization, but they don't even abide by them. - Growth: it's been amazing to be a part of our growth but it's been tough too, to go through the transtitions so quickly. It's hard to keep up the pace sometimes.
