First review on Glassdoor site
Feb 14, 2017 - CAD Drafter in Camarillo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Since the acquisition summer Senior Staff from Mercury Systems has gone to great lengths to introduce themselves and to share the organizational vision. Management made a special point to reassure us that strengths of our team here in Camarillo would be honored. My experience working with the Camarillo team for 3 plus years has been very positive .
Cons
Transitions are tough. Data migration and adapting to a ne Materials Management Program adds a layer of complexity to the standard operation. Efforts to maintain , and increase production can be fatiguing. A con might be the pace at times.

Pros
The management team has stressed an open door policy and I believe that is a true statement. The company appears to be moving quickly and aggressively to continue to grow, to meet Wall Street expectations but more importantly to continue to foster employee interest and motivation to grow as well. Our recent acquisition by Mercury brought a certain amount of apprehension to many people. However, corporate has been working very hard to make the transition as painless as possible and have made it a point to communicate our path forward. Management's drive is to make Mercury a superior place to work by making their employees excited about what they do. We are changing together to make Mercury a wonderful place to work. Employees across all sites have been outstanding to work with each day. I am very impressed and motivated to drive us past any competition in the market. Its an exciting place to work. Highly recommend it to all who want to learn quickly and be involved with other motivated people.
Cons
More emphasis should be made on continual education for all. This could be done either through further formal education or employees teaching employees. This fosters growth. Management is open to this. We should make it happen!

We appreciate the positive feedback but also the opportunity to learn from you what we need to make sure our employees know about everything we offer. Lifelong learning is one of our core values. We offer unlimited training opportunities to employees through Lynda.com and last year implemented a comprehensive management development curriculum called Mercury Managers Matter (M3), for managers or employees with management potential. We are also working on a similar development program from individual contributors and a “systems engineering” program which will ensure we are onboarding well-rounded employees and that knowledge transfer between longtime experts and junior talent is happening companywide. Be sure to check out our Learning and Development section on the One Mercury site for more information on these and other opportunities to further your growth!

Small company with a lot of potential but also many quirks
Oct 17, 2012 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
There is opportunity to take on various roles and learn a broad range of skills. Everyone is close-knit and friendly. The culture is quite laid back and relaxed (sometimes too much so). We were recently acquired by Mercury Computer Systems and are currently undergoing re-structuring. Hopefully we will take advantage of the benefits and resources of a large corporation while still maintaining the feel of a small company. Also a new first-class facility is in the plans within the next year or so.
Cons
A lot of times the vision and leadership of upper management is vague and counterproductive. Aside from annual reviews there isn't much structured career development or training, so what you get out of the company is truly dependent on what you put in (this can be good and bad). The facility isn't that impressive.

Pros
Management not professional let a guy that’s not a manager look at the place. Sean Dempsey
Cons
Threatening all the time, afraid when you get fire. People that works there for a year will threat to badmouth you in front of management.

All the good people have left
Oct 10, 2015 - Software Engineer in North Chelmsford, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You get to work with cool new technology that benefits our troops and civilians, in both medical and military applications
Cons
Cut almost 50 percent of their workforce with no heads up. Upper management doesn't understand time constraints and winds up promising the customer the world in unreasonable amounts of time. Although you're working with cool technology, your day to day life is boring. All the competent managers have left to manage larger groups at other companies, partially due to the environment. Need more communication between hardware and software teams

Well orgnanized and friendly people
Jan 25, 2017 - Anonymous Employee in Camarillo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The company offers good salary, benefits and STOCK OPTIONS. This allows you to make more money and be more interested in helping the company grow. Management is fair and they pay attention to your concerns and try their best to come up with a solution. They don't micromanage everyday but they let your work results speak for themselves. All the employees are friendly and helpful.
Cons
Some of the processes could be improved to be more efficient in getting things done in time

A Company that really cares about its employees
Apr 16, 2020 - Senior Human Resources Business Partner Manager in Hudson, NHRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I joined Mercury about a year ago and I more impressed every day with the company and its leadership. Mercury is very clear about its culture and values which are posted everywhere in Mercury’s facilities. Many company’s post their cultures and values and that’s where it ends. Mercury actually lives its culture and values and holds everyone, including management, accountable for them. Management communicates frequently and honestly to all employees and genuinely wants to hear from employees. One of the really great things about Mercury is the opportunity for employees to grow, develop, continually learn and to work with smart and caring co-workers. During the COVID-19 crisis, Mercury has really stepped up to be there for its employees – moving employees to work from home immediately at the on-set of COVID, keeping employees still at work safe, providing 3 weeks of COVID-sick time for employees, establishing a $1 million relief fund to support those employees in most need, and many other things that are too numerous to mention. I am so proud to work for a company that lives its values. I am so proud to work for Mercury
Cons
There are really no cons - Mercury is growing fast and very fast-paced. It's the right place for someone who likes that type of environment.

Great management, top notch work environment.
Jul 31, 2018 - Senior Consultant in Cypress, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's not too often that you get the opportunity to work for a company like Mercury Defense Systems in Cypress California. The company has a very positive vibe that clearly is the result of superior management from the top down. In addition to having a excellent work environment you can also expect to be associating with some of the best and brightest minds who are very enthusiastic about what they are involved with. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable job situation. If you are going to invest 8 hours a day doing something, then do yourself a favor and join this very talented team of professionals. I am certainly glad I had the fortune to.
Cons
The work day was only 8 hours long.
