I worked at Mercy Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Support from admin and HR to solve problems and help employees be successful. Support for new clinical programs. Great salary and benefits.

    Cons

For me as a physician, just the call schedule but that's not really Mercy's fault.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Nice place to work friendly people

    Cons

The pay and yearly raise are horrible

    Advice to Management

Up the pay. Show your employees you appreciate the hard work they do by compensating them accordingly.

I have been working at Mercy Health System full-time

    Pros

It's great to work for a system which cares about family time!

    Cons

Long hours at times and little help - too lean in areas that aren't patient care.

I have been working at Mercy Health System full-time

    Pros

    Flexible work schedule and autonomy.

    Cons

More concerned about degrees and titles than experience and dedication.

    Advice to Management

Really take a look at work loads and expectations. Administration teams seem to be unsupported.

    Advice to Management

Better training for management, more professionalism and involvement from management.

I have been working at Mercy Health System full-time

    Pros

Every other Thursday when your barely enough to get by paycheck is direct deposited

    Cons

When you allow mentally ill people to supervise others, its never a good thing. Your management has a bully mentality. They know exactly what thin line to walk to keep from crossing over in to what becomes illegal bullying. But they are constantly on the thin gray area of what constitutes illegal harassment. Otherwise its perfectly fine and acceptable to your company and culture to harass people, and treat them unequally, as long as its not "illegal" harassment. My team lead is seriously mentally ill and that is a dangerous person to have in any position of authority. Especially when her boss is her best friend in and outside of work, then you start to get in to one another covering up for each other. They are their own twisted posse that will relentlessly go after anyone who is a threat of exposing them at their games they play. They are allowed to fraternize with subordinates outside of work. They openly and freely play favorites. It is a toxic work environment. Mercy Care can't do much right. They started new software that almost 3 months in to using it still doesnt work right. The IT department is non existent. They couldn't write a simple DOS program let alone anything that functions in 2018. What a mess. Javon Bea has no clue what goes on here.

    Advice to Management

Stop screwing your customers over and provide them with the services you promised to provide them when you took their money

I worked at Mercy Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mercy joined me with some of the best nurses I have ever met. Working on the surgical floor I received valuable education and skills.

    Cons

Good luck getting and/or keeping any help. Turn over rate is high, and night shift gets severely slighted. Many weeks we went with no aids help whatsoever. Mercy CEO does not care about nurses, aids, or patient safety.

    Advice to Management

Advocate for your nurses and aids. Listen to your nurses and aids. There was a mass exodus of nurses on the surgical floor last year for good reason!

I have been working at Mercy Health System part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is comparable to the hospitals around the area

    Cons

About 50% of the time we do not have enough staff we do not have enough CNAs and the nurses don't help CNA

    Advice to Management

Hire more CNAs that will come to work

I have been working at Mercy Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly. They want to make sure you succeed and have a comfortable transition into their company.

    Cons

Pay is less than expected, and less than competitors nearby. Training was shorter than expected.

    Advice to Management

You take pride in caring for your employees but you are known for under paying

I have been working at Mercy Health System full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent here. It's the only positive I can think of. Sorry to say I cannot think of anything else positive.

    Cons

Horrible company. Benefits are atrocious. But the worst is management. They are too concerned with patting themselves on the back to care about what the employees actually think. IF you desire to only have a job that you hate doing and don't want to advance in your clinical knowledge or advance in your career, then MercyHealth system is for you. Otherwise, please avoid at all costs. I will emphasize again- management only cares for themselves and not the employees whatsoever. We are nothing but trash to them. Don't waste your knowledge and talent working for this company. They do not care for you or patients.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees! We are the ones interacting with patients and staff every day, yet what we have to say is discarded without any thought. It is a shame.
