I have been working at Mercy Regional Health Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The ICU is hands down the heart of the hospital, everyone is so friendly and willing to help. Manager is knowledgeable, and flexible.

    Cons

Good bit of favoritism and some very intense nurses that have worked there for awhile that go on random power trips.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your staff

  2. "It's a job, but the organization is in flux and senior leadership is very ineffective."

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Mercy Regional Health Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, average health insurance, some small perks of being affiliated with Via Christi

    Cons

Mismanagement at every turn, very frequent specialty physician shortages, frequent equipment failures, lackluster retirement options, lower end compensation

    Advice to Management

Increased focus on employee satisfaction versus arbitrary corporate recommendations would be very beneficial.

I have been working at Mercy Regional Health Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the hospital setting and everyone is very nice. The employees work well as a team and are very good about helping each other out.

    Cons

Pay is not as competitive as I would have hoped (as a CNA), but the benefits are good so that helps make up for the pay rate.

    Advice to Management

Mercy is a great place to work! The only thing I would change is base pay for aides, we do so much work and are very important to the hospital. I was surprised that my base pay was lower than my previous job at a nursing home.
