I’m a Manager of an understaffed scheduling department for a clinic. Instead of staffing the department properly I am getting pressured to do the work of my staff. I’m all for assisting with escalated calls and helping my staff through workflow issues. The impression I’m getting however is I’m being expected to take the same amount of calls as my agents which is not in my job description. How would you respond to this kind of pressure?
I am looking into moving to the Tampa Florida area. I have been a phlebotomist for 4 years I work in an outpatient lab setting. We draw blood, process samples, and perform EKG’s but I have worked the hospital floors along with Er as well. I am very good with drawing pediatrics and recently even went to the Mayo Clinic to get more training in pediatric draws. I am curious how much phlebotomist make in this area and if there are any areas I can work at that handle more pediatric patients.

Management Needs ImprovementMay 14, 2023 - Registered Nurse in Oklahoma City, OKRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness Outlook
Great culture and competitive pay.
Management is unresponsive to needs/requests. Health insurance is expensive and has large out of pocket cost to employees.

Current manager is decent however administration is a revolving door and the administrators are lacking at best.
High turnover, lowest pay in the country, administration typically do not have clinical experience and therefore are out of touch with how the group functions, the staff and clinicians are often treated second rateContinue reading

Top down heavily centralizedMay 5, 2023 - Registered Nurse, BSN in Saint Louis, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness Outlook
It’s one of the better hospitals in Missouri.
Nursing management at Mercy Hospital is top-down heavy and driven by “Catholic” politics although most management could care less about Catholic values and equality.Continue reading

Decent career in healthcareMar 21, 2023 - Registered Nurse ICU in Springfield, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness Outlook
Beautiful facility. Top notch equipment, excellent surgeons, physicians, and mid level providers. Professional nurses striving for best patient outcomes. Up to-date with technology and best practice
Took away add-ons for BSN, CCRN, SCRN, etc The med/surg floors are drowning with not enough staff nurses. Lots of travelers with no loyalty to Mercy or investment in our facility.Continue reading

Great Managers and Co workersApr 30, 2023 - Hospice RN in Saint Louis, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness Outlook
Great team environment, great managers, great Nurse to patient ratio.
Pay is mainly figured in length of experience/service and not performance. Not many incentive opportunities.
