Pros
Co-workers, supervisors, and most managers are very supportive and work hard , and want the best for everyone around them. You can pray at work and say things like Merry Christmas, God bless you, have a blessed day, etc.
Cons
The pay could be better I know that it's hard to get top notch people and keep them because of the lower pay. Some of the higher ups tend to want things done that are not realistic and say that they listen to your ideas when in reality they don't hear you, and only want a yes answer to their ideas, and don't even try to explain why certain things may not work, it will fall upon deaf ears, why? because they went to college for 4 years and think they have everything figured out, when actually they have forgotten how the real world works, or they never knew because they were always spoiled and never had to work with regular people.

Pros
Mercy generally does a fantastic job hiring a good set of people that are genuine and truly care about their fellow man. I find most areas at Mercy to be staffed with highly qualified and professional individuals.
Cons
Management turn over is frequent and the replacement managers are less qualified and tend to be not as educated in the area of expertise as the employees they oversee. They make decisions regarding our work environment that are literally detrimental to the physical health/comfort of employees that are stuck sitting for 12 hours staring at screens without hesitation. Further, I find the new managers tend to focus too much on negative, petty things which is extremely frustrating. It has made me seek employment elsewhere within the system.

Good Culture, Great Resources
Sep 11, 2022 - Registered Nurse, BSNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The culture is good. People are generally helpful and the systems they have in place work well on average. Pay for contract employees is good. Resources are adequate.
Cons
Understaffed. Contract employees are the first to be floated to other floors. Core staff are underpaid and benefits aren’t great.

Hi stress. Lots changes. Great benefits. Salary low and sad
Feb 10, 2021 - Patient Access Representative in Springfield, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
401k and Dental insurance. Health insurance tho it increases in cost reducing take home pay. Day one coverage. Other good perks. Adoption assistance. Community discounts at local businesses. Including dining. Etc
Cons
Insurance goes up with raises. 'Nice' the new program counting every second is unreasonable and people self included couldn't take it. You can't provide cs and be on the dot. This is healthcare. Be reasonable. We are humans not bots. Also. Figure out how to stop letting people go ea yr. It amplifies stress. It's not a great business model. it's just sad.

Pros
Friendly coworkers. Most of the time strong values.
Cons
Stuck up people. And supervisors that only look out for themselves and have certain people that are friends with and they play favorites to those people. Human Resources people won't help or back up employees they only back up the supervisors.

Needs to get back to the ministry
Feb 17, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mercy truly cares about the patients and the people (for the most part) are wonderful to work with.
Cons
They preach about this ministry they're founded on but they don't practice it. Many of the frontline staff are take advantage of, management is understaffed so there's little help from the top, and they have bad character people in high places.

Organization has been in a downward spiral over the past 3 years.
Jul 21, 2014 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good colleagues and people on the front lines that truly care about the patient's well-being.
Cons
Corporate executive leader literally said, "I have the reputation for being a slave driver" and "I'm going to crack the whip". Crazy, right!?!? That is exactly how you are observed as a co-worker, a slave to the pointless initiatives that come out of the endless, self-promoting meetings at the executive level.

Pros
People are amazing and truly want you to succeed and giving you ample enough time and support to do so
Cons
Pay is sub-par but what they lack in pay they make up for in career opportunities

Pros True Mercy Fit Cons bottom line
Apr 10, 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Mercy fit based on morals and values established by a true Cristian that helped the poor and indigent people of Dublin Ireland. Sister Catherine set the theme for a culture of caring for all within her care and those that provided service within the organization because in most cases at that time they were one and the same. This is still shown today by the Co workers coming together to help one another in need with PTO donation and the Co worker fund etc...
Cons
Administration loses sight of Sister Catherine's initiative and focuses on the bottom line pushing their future goals to quickly causing financial difficulties to the very people that have dedicated themselves to the Mercy fit.
